I don't think anyone said that having multiple pathways is something noone has ever done before, the point of the video is to show that the game is not just a Dragon's Lair that is based on a pass/fail QTE system where you have to restart the game if you miss too many and the scenes are always the same.

Do you have to time some of them at the perfect moment to hit? or is it you just have to hit the buttons quickly before the meter runs up. Looks like I saw a meter of sorts on the buttons.
