It's being removed because if you can run Linux on the PS3 then you have access to tons more software options rather than pay Sony and other parties for various services.

The PSP is far more pirated than the Wii or DS, now does the PSP have more problems than piracy? I guess so, people just aren't interested in that handheld in the west when it comes to buying games. Because clearly JAPAN is showing it has a huge interest in the PSP as a gaming device, while the Americas don't really care. That really is a shame, because last year the psp HAD AN ASTOUNDINGLY good line up of games.

PSP games of 2009 weren't entirely original though. While we do get some good games here and there I still feel there is a real lack of defining games.

you seem alittle confused on PSP issue..and its not piracy, The PSP in west has fallen due to SONY mishandling..The PSP is basically a port , spin off, HD port machine.

The PSP has a identitiy crisis - is it  gaming device wih multi media HUBS or and Multimedia HUB with added gaming!

Wheres the originality in PSP? what doesnt it have any of its own games? name how many only on PSP titles can name?

I love the PSP to death but it has so many problems...and reasons why it felled to match the DS when it has the full potential to.

How about we actually wait for Sony to remove OtherOS support before we all rage out a Braveheart style 'you may take my otheros but you will never take my freedom' speech. All we know is some anonymous 'respectable source' has heard a 'rumour' about the upcoming loss of otheros support.

And to anyone saying they simply won't update their firmware, better add never playing any newly released games in the future to that, as Sony can and do ship firmware along with games. GT5 Prologue upgraded my firmware (to 1.40 from memory) without using the internet, and if I said no it wouldn't install.

i dont think sony can remove something we payed for. but maybe they can when its a threat to their business (piracy). i think if they do remove otherOs they will offer something else as a "treat" to owners who had it? possibility

WTF is this SONY cant remove wat we paid for shit!!??? it says in the user agreement..ya kno that big ass contarct u must agree with before every filmware update that SONY reserves the right to remove any thing they wish even without notice.
