not being on PC might cause a bigger HW bump also as 360 is the only place to get it those who want it day 1 or month 1 will have to get a 360 at least as of now

if i were MS i wouldnt share games with PC keep doing it 360 only they should try to kill off PC gaming IMO

LOL I loved that comment. You made it sound so brutal.

Even though I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, I tend agree to some extent.

Do you think Alan Wake has the ability to sell consoles? I think so, as this game will most likely be highly rated and there isn't anything like it. What's your take on this?

"there isnt anything like it"? have you played fatal frame or silent hill? those games used flashlights to combat demons/monsters way before alan wake.  those games also had puzzles. matter of fact they even share a similar storyline with a few tweaks of course.

edit: fatal frame also useses cameras to combat monsters. does alan wake do that? no

With that edit, your trolling, anyways I meant on 360, or even on ps360.

Looking at the reaction from the PC community I don't think this is going to get a bunch of people sitting with high spec PCs to buy a 360 to get Alan Wake.

Also, I'd say it's pretty clear MS is focused on 360 to the detriment of PC.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I dont think so.

Mainly due to the fact that its a new IP.
It's it not even a very well known IP at that. I just really doubt there are a lot f people that will shell out $260+ for a 360 and and this game.

well maybe by june july we'll be able to get arcades for 150$ by then the game could be bought for 50$ used so 200$ total i bought a GC for 70$ in 2004 used for RE4 i would do the same for 360 but i dont think i want a used 360 dont want to ttake the chance with MSs history GC was a diffrent story

im known as a sony only guy on this site the fact that it interests me enough to go and buy a console is a good indication of how big the HW boost will be

as for killing off PC im not a PC guy or handheld guy if the 360 wants to become huge it will need to do that not release games multi, im not even talking bout timed release people will pick up on it and say i will just wait for it to come on PC resulting in less 360 HW and SW bought

as for me gettin a 360 and AW it all depends on the story the gameplay i like its close to RE4 i aslo like that u just controll 1 character not like HR and RE5 the story is wat matters for this game i would like to know wat happens to his wife if she lives or dies

Even though MS is focusing on the 360 almost exclusively gaming-wise now, Microsoft still has PC gamers by the balls so they don't care. If you are a PC gamer, having Windows installed is pretty much a must given how many PC games are only supported on Windows. So good luck gaming with just Linux at your disposal. And the Mac? Well, there's not much there either unless you install Windows (win-win for Microsoft).

"Core" Traditional PC gaming (you know the, "oh yeah I just got a gaming rig! It's a monster!" type of PC gaming) has noticeably faded some since MS (and to a lesser extent Sony) converted quite a few PC game developers to console gaming. But there are enough of these games exclusive to Windows to convince people to buy a Windows-based PC. And there are plenty of other types of PC games (casual games, indie games, free-to-play games, MMOs... except Blizzard games since those always have Mac support) that require Windows.

What the heck does the OS have to do with it?  MS gets paid by Dell or whoever for the bundled OS, they see almost nothing from game sales and have next to zero grip on the PC market.  In fact it's pretty clear with piracy, etc. no-one has much of a grip on the PC market.  What the hell are you talking about?

I really don't understand why some console gamers think PC is a MS owned and controlled environment for gaming because of the OS.  Have you see Live marketshare next to something like Steam or Direct2Drive?  MS is irrelevant on PC other than their ability to influence whether certain games appear on PC.  The OS is no more a factor than having an Nvidia card or a specific make of HDD.

Didn't I make myself clear? If you want to play computer games, you pretty much need Windows because most computer games require it. How does that benefit Microsoft? Simple. You are forced to buy Windows or a PC with Windows installed to play games. I didn't say anything about royalties. Microsoft makes money from PC gaming indirectly (through people buying Windows so that they can play the games), not directly like they do with the Xbox.

yeah, i think it'll help move a few thousand extra units.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

I don't think that holds as the OS is simply a component as I said.  By your logic MS, Nvidia and the majority players all force me to buy there bits becuase I want a PC - Windows just happens to have a higher share of the components monopoly, but its incidental to the purpose.

Should I feel that the manufactures of scews have me by the balls because I need screws to hold my PC case together?

No, I just don't buy this.  Also, what I really meant is what the hell did you post have to do with the topic at all?  I responsed to someone wondering if not having a PC version would drive PC owners to get a 360, and I responded probably not - where did 'hah, MS have PC gamers by the balls' come from in that discussion?
