I remember when this game was selling poorly initially, like the first game did, a few people used it as 'proof' that 3rd party games can't sell on the Wii. Now when it's outselling many 'hardcore' games like Bayonetta, there is a meltdown over it.

LordTheNightKnight said: They also bemoan that NSMBWii already outsold Galaxy. What total arrogance that they try to tell people what they should and shouldn't buy (not the same thing at telling people what games they think are worth playing). |
IGN does the same thing, which is one reason I no longer go there.
They were making a joke. Even said they bought a copy themselves

I haven't, but I would like to.

It has Mario and Sonic in it and its about the Olympics. All three are very popular and are all listed in the title. It makes sense that it can sell so well.
Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

They were failing at their joke, too.
They are taking a stab at it while trying very hard to make it looks like a joke.
Oh boy, you Wii fans get upset easily.
This was a comment for people who love classic Sonic games. It would have even been cool to see Sonic and Mario in some sort of Adventure game. But a party game... no thanks. That appeals to a different audience.

No, it's people getting a comment out of context. ANYONE can be set off by that.
