awesome!
After being converted to this series by Civ 4, awesome news, I'm looking forward to see what Sid Meier can do now
I will probably buy a new laptop around that time. One of the few PC games I want.
I bought all of Sid Meier's games, Pirates! was wonderful on the Amiga, Colonization and the Civilization series were awesome games.
Civ 1, Civ 2 Civ 3 Civ 4 I have played them all. Now I will play Civ 5.
I hope I can turn off the hex tiles, I always play without the ugly grid.
Looking at the pic where the archers are firing over a lake, I have to wonder how big that lake is.
Although I readily admit not being the greatest fan of the Civ games, I did like Civ IV, and I will certainly be watching Civ V closely. I do need more games for the PC...
Already? I'm surprised Sid Meier didn't wait until 2011 to announce that Civ 5 will be released exactly 20 years after Civilization. Missed opportunity.
Anyway, I played this series in 1991, I'll play it in 2010 and years to come. Best strategy series ever created imo.
I just had hoped the art direction of #5 would be a bit closer to Anno 1404 than to Civ 4.
By far the best game series I've ever played. Day one.
Granted, this is my opinion and you have to really like strategy games to follow me.

Exactly how I feel. I would still take Civ II over III and IV any day. At least this time the graphics look fine. I've hardly met another game series where the graphics take a step backwards. Civ IV looked horrible and way inferior to Civ III IMO. |
Really?
Man, the new features in 3 and 4 are great to me. In particular 4 is the best in the series, the inclusion of religious elements and better tech tree are simply more interesting.
Can't wait to see the innovations in 5.
This is one series where the newer version has always been a big improvement over the last to me.
