gebx said: I love numbers.. The 360 as an Attachment rate between 4-5 What does that mean? People might of bought the 360 for Halo 3, but there buying everything else that comes out. They'll own Crackdown, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Lost Planet, Oblivion and so on. The average user will own between 4 to 5 games. The PS3 as an Attachment rate of 1-1.5 What does that mean? The average PS3 user doesn't even own two games... That's insane, they own a $600 machine and they only have one game?? There's two possibilities that come to mind for this low attachment rate... These are the two reasons that I think sell PS3's. 1) PS3 Users are waiting for those killer apps that every ps3 fanboy has memorized 2) PS3 Users use it primarely for a Blu Ray player
oooo numbers, hey lets talk numbers. Lets talk about how many greatest hits are out for the 360 that gamers can buy for cheap that increases attach rate, lets talk about how many more games period that are available to give people more options and choices and opportunities to buy games.......what a terribly smug post that was just fueled by blind fanboyism, please save your condescension for something with more substance than that http://www.n4g.com/wii/News-30100.aspx The PS3 attach rate of 1.5 was taken from November of 2006, it is now up to around 3.4 http://thexboxdomain.net/2006/10/26/xbox-360-sales-statisticsestimates/ and here we see the attach rate for the 360 has risen to 5.1 and at this time last year the 360's attach rate was 3.8...so first of all, update your "numbers" that you love so much and dont cite launch attach rates from november in March and then think about the quantity of games and their prices with comparing two different consoles. Numbers are great and fun, but the bad thing about them is anyone can post numbers with words attached, but when those numbers are false they become irrelevent aqnd the words become laughable.

Yeah, 60 doesn't even begin to come close to the estimated hours for Oblivion. I've played 40 hours so far and have hardly scratched the surface of all I can do in the game. That doesn't count loads when I've fooled around killing off people and seeing what I can do. That also doesn't count a replay with an evil character since I snubbed the evil faction this first play-through. It's ridiculous. Reminds me a lot of Balder's Gate without D&D and better because it's newer (and I really liked Balder's Gate 1/2 and expansion). I hope the Oblivion expansion is released on the PS3 as well. At this rate, I might not even need Lair and Heavenly Sword. I have Motorstorm sitting here waiting to be played but I can't get myself off of Oblivion. Sad, really.

zelda is an uber long game as well. my friend has played 55 hours and isnt even on the last dungeon yet. i have played a little over 20 hours and just ABOUT finished the first part of the game, restoring light to all the land. (youd have to play through it to understand what im talking about) and a copy of zelda averages being sold with every wii being sold.

A delayed game is good someday, a bad game is bad forever.

People buy PS3 because it is the best deal currently avalaible in electronics. They buy it Because Sony has the best games. People buy it because they know that Sony will never let them down. The PS3 is a solid platform, and People like to make a stable purchase. That is why the PS3 sells. The real question is why does the Wii sell. That system has nothing but wii sports. Sure say zelda or paper mario, and I say see ya on gamecube. Tell me look at how many 4M plus games Nintendo made for the Cube, and I'd say duh Nintendo made most of the games for the Cube and if people wanted to play games and not get another system thats all they had. Now I am not saying that the Cube games Nintendo are bad, but they sure as hell are not as good as a lot of lesser selling games on PS2 and Xbox. And the well PS2 sold 5 times as many systems is skewed to first PS2 had a lot of multiple buys due to bad hardware (which is not a factor with PS3) and it also had like 5 times more games to buy, so each game sold less.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

they know sony wont let them down? isnt that basically what sony did, let them down? they made the by far most expensive console, and for what? so games can be so expensive to make for em that it loses all its 3rd party exclusives? the wii sells because its not just fun for gamers, (that includes hardcore gamers such as myself) but for the whole family. actually a friend of mine whos a sony homeboy actually said the wii is worth paying 250 for just for wii sports. he might be right, but he didnt exclude the other games. zelda is much more fun for the wii. red steal, might not have been the best rated game, but it gives an expirience that no other console has. that is slashing with your sword and aiming realistically with your gun. warioware, it is fun for everyone, and the stuff it does is only possible on the wii. excite truck, alot of fun and steering with the wiimote is a new expirience. all the platformers nintendo has makes any nintendo product worth it. zelda, metroid prime, mario games, SUPER SMASH BROTHERS, BABY! who doesnt like that game? seriously. wii sports, wii play, both great reasons, not to mention other sequels to that simple game, (i think its called wii fitness). playing sports games like madden is amazing, simply amazing. i think most hard core madden players will agree, made on the wii is simply AMAZING. it got a higher review than all other 07s for the other consoles and handhelds. another thing, some of the big games you sony fans like to think of might not be so exclusive. a GTA port to the wii is still a very much alive idea. KH comming out for the ps3 AND Wii is a big thing on the table right now. it very well may happen. guitar hero is possibly comming out for the wii (most likly, although nothing official), dance dance revolution is comming out (or has it already come out?) and can be revolutionized with the wii mote worked in. (anyone whoes played the final boss in warioware knows what im talking about) did i miss anything?

Sony hasn't let me down yet. I have games to play, and I'll have more later. Sony lost 3rd party exclusives because the 360 has a decent number of consoles out there, but not all of them for sure. As for the Wii, I agree that it's great fun for lots of people and I plan to get one (I was going to get 1 sooner but I'm busy with the PS3 for now). However, let's not stretch the truth. Red Steel has bad controls and there are plenty of games that had light guns before. Remember duck hunt? Yeah, those have been around for awhile. As for slashing, the same thing is possible with the PS3. In fact, 2K7 uses a "swing" motion to hit baseballs. (Just played the demo yesterday.) Warioware was on the gamecube, granted the controls may be more fun. Wario gets old soon, at least according to most reviews. Warioware is the 2nd highest rated Wii game at only 82.3% on gamerankings. Granted, I'd like to rent it. Now, something you just flat out lied about: Madden 07 might be the 3rd highest rated game on the Wii so far but it was beat out by the ratings on both the Xbox 1 and PS2 versions. I think most "hard core" gamers will agree that the defensive controls were not on par with normal controllers. And for some reason EA did not put all the features that the last gen games had in the next gen games. This year, most sports games will look a lot better on the 360 and PS3; I hope the controls are far superior on the Wii to compete with that. Basketball with a wiimote? Should be interesting. *sigh*. GTA would not be the same game on the Wii. The Wii could not handle the graphics. Kingdom Hearts, we shall see, but the game would certainly look better on the PS3. Guitar Hero and GTA are already on the 360 as well, but I suppose the Wii might get it. Big deal, the 360 has downloadable songs, would the Wii version? I'm glad you are on top of all the rumors for games going to the Wii, but some games will just not play as well on that system. Btw, stop giving away game elements such as the Zelda stuff above. I will play the game eventually and I don't want to know what happens. So yeah, you missed a lot of stuff.

If you don't think GTA would work on the Wii, there are a lot of people who beg to differ. There's a reason Godfather : Blackhand is becoming *the* most talked about Wii game. :) If GTA 4 came to Wii with controls as good as Godfather or maybe even better, you'd better believe it would hurt the PS3/360 sales considerably. And we're quickly finding out that the Wii reviews don't count worth crap, we're getting massive variations in scores for the same game from different big reviewers. Excluding a few titles, almost all of the Wii games are varying around 35-40% score difference. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the traditional standards for reviewing games don't work well for the Wii. And btw, coming from a PC background, I've never been able to accurately control a gamepad FPS with free-aiming, and Red Steel was the first free-aim console FPS I've been able to enjoy. All I had to to was some minor control configuration changes and I was about as good as I am with a mouse and keyboard, something I'll never be able to accomplish with a gamepad. I know many others feel the same way. All I'm willing to say is that if things keep going the way they are, my Wii/DS combo is going to serve me well for many years, without the need for any other console. :)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Most ask why PS2 did succed with having GTA if not Wii can handle it. I most also ask why Godfather seems to get some hardcore fans on the Wii, if sandbox games doesn't work on the Wii. Now I am not saying that Wii is the ultimate game machin that will get all games in the world, but I do think it start to get ridiculus when people state that Wii can't handle stuff that PS2 could do.
