For PS3 to have higher sales than Wii next week it'ss need help from the Wii dropping substantially from where it is now, because I don't see much more than a 5K spike from the 250Gig sku, given it's so easy to slap a 500Gig HDD in your 120Gig unit I don't see current PS3 owners rushing out to "upgrade" their PS3 and there's no especially compelling evidence to suggest people have been waiting to buy a PS3 until the 250Gig sku is released. Unless you think sales levels in the mid 20K's is suppressed numbers, which I doubt. I do see 250Gig eventually becoming the standard sku taking over at the 120Gig price after a few months. Then the premium sku will be a 500Gig unit at the old 250Gig price (possibly with a free 6 month premium PSN subscription whenever that comes along). |
Maybe the release of Zangeki no Reginleiv is the reason of Wii holding steady instead of following the downward trajectory.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Wii rose from last week according to MC.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Is there really a reason to harp about the PSP Go every week? I mean its been out for months, selling about the same every week. Aren't you guys tired/bored of saying the same thing every week? Especially ignoring that the 3000 outsold all other skus of consoles this week. Plus, Sony is still going to keep them on shelves and its still bringing them profit. I'm surprised it's selling at all really, being over $50 USD more than the 3000. I wonder how well it will begin to sell when/if they lower the price by $50 or more.
@metallicube
You're right. Cause no other company releases more than one sku for its systems. *cough* DS *cough* 360 *cough* In other words, EVERYONE does it.

A lot of Japanese retailers price dropped GO already to clear stock, it isn't moving. And it's not selling the same every week, it's been slowly but surely declining.
I think PSP go tends to be targeted because of the insane 1st shipment (150k) which is looking more and more like it's also going to be it's last shipment too.

I'm sure it will eventually get another shipment. If not after an official price cut, then probably around holiday season later this year. But either way, I can understand why it was targeted like in its first month or 2, but it's been over 4 months (for the NA release, anyway). I don't know, it just seems really old to me. But I guess whatever floats people's boat.
why would retailers want another shipment of something that took them a year to sell out of the first shipment and they had to drop the prices to the point of losing money. The resale value of the PSP go is way below the 3000 even though the go costs quite a bit more.
