Wow, if those end up being close to the VGC numbers then Wii staying even is a surprise to me. I was expecting high 20's to low 30's, Wii was still on a downward trajectory in Japan post holiday's up until now and I wasn't expecting to see a sudden flattening out like this. PS3 numbers are at the upper end of what I expected, but my lower end of expectation is about 22K so not a big difference.

For PS3 to have higher sales than Wii next week it'ss need help from the Wii dropping substantially from where it is now, because I don't see much more than a 5K spike from the 250Gig sku, given it's so easy to slap a 500Gig HDD in your 120Gig unit I don't see current PS3 owners rushing out to "upgrade" their PS3 and there's no especially compelling evidence to suggest people have been waiting to buy a PS3 until the 250Gig sku is released. Unless you think sales levels in the mid 20K's is suppressed numbers, which I doubt. I do see 250Gig eventually becoming the standard sku taking over at the 120Gig price after a few months. Then the premium sku will be a 500Gig unit at the old 250Gig price (possibly with a free 6 month premium PSN subscription whenever that comes along).

Maybe the release of Zangeki no Reginleiv is the reason of Wii holding steady instead of following the downward trajectory.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
