Forums - Gaming - My opinion on Dante's Inferno AFTER the animated movie...

So like I said, I've just seen Dante's Inferno: Animated movie, and I must say, wow. I'm not a big fan of Anime or anything like that, but even I think that this movie is the "awesomeness".

Case you're wondering, "Why's this guy posting this on gaming discussion if he's going to talk about the god damn movie", well the reason is quite simple: the plot is brilliant. It has such a envolving, bloody and twisted story, pretty cool characters (Dante kind of reminds me of a "in love Kratos", and the bosses are epic as well) not to mention that each circle of hell has its unique environment. For the ones of you who don't know, this is based on the poem, Divine Comedy, and the actual game, Dante's Inferno, so logically, the game should be good as well.

Honestly, I never really cared to watch any Dante's Inferno gameplay because all reviews were bashing it... and I would never betray my one and only hack 'n' slash lover, God of War =D Ok perhaps once or twice with Ninja Gaiden, but I'd totally go to hell to rescue him lol

But anyway, I thought that the perfect formula would be: Dante's Inferno Animated Movie Plot + MGS4's Cutscenes (not the actual MGS4's cutscenes obviously =P, but their relevance to the game) + GOW's gameplay/fun = Possible game of the year. And now that I've seen IGN's review and a couple of others made by youtube users, looks like this game is nearly everything I wanted it to be! The environments are faithful to the movie, IGN even critized it to look like hell too much, just like the bosses, and another thing that didn't occur me, but COULD be a good addition, is the Infamous option to be a good/bad guy. Must be cool to develop certain attacks, however, on a critic position, that doesn't make much sense after watching the movie, they make it very clear, why would you want to save souls that actually are in hell? Specially the ones that are trying to kill you.. and another detail, for a mortal soldier, Dante sure is quite strong lol I mean... how can he double jump? XD

So am I making this game better than it is? Or should I buy it and say "F U reviewers, this game doesn't deserve 75/100 on metacritic"?

Around the Network

It's worth buying. At least from the bagain bin if you're hesitant to pay $60 for it.

i seen this for 19 euro new on blu ray but i wasnt sure it was any good

I played and beat the game. If you like Hack 'n slash, then this is for you. It isn't as great as GoW. But it is good. I gave it a 8.3/10.

The cutscenes are the best thing about the game, really cool. I want to see the animated movie.

Divine comedy is really interesting. Now if only they would make a good game based off of Beowulf. and not some crap game that we got.
