The reason I ask, a buddy of mine and I were debating it, so I thought it'd be am interesting topic. H esays nay, I said yay!

OT: lthough, that Spider-Man vid hasn't actually turned into an actual game, it IS rendered fully using the PS3. His skin textures are quite detailed, but there are games on the PS3 who's textures look just as good IMO.

If anything, HEAVY RAIN exceeds it.

What Spider-man video?

That's what that video is a representation of, a then Spider-Man game for PS3.

Oops sorry, I was thinking about the character spider-man. Forgot about that Alfred actually made a Spider movie lol so it could be a part of a game.

Thx for making it clear ;) !

Who cares? The PC platform delivers much more than that today.

Yeah right! Show me the PC you are talking about for 299 and I'll buy it.

There's always got to be one guy who is off topic. It's inevitable...

Show me someone who is serious about image quality that would not be willing to pay for it. Anyone who wants to pay just $299 for image quality, isn't serious about image quality.

Tease.

That is false.  Some of the videos in Uncharted 2 are in-game.

Then TC should perhaps use screens from these scenes instead then? Or are videos now used for setting the "graphics" bar? If that's the case PSP is holding up allright.

^^^ All captured from Crysis Cores engine in real-time!

Thank you, at least I'm not crazy in that thought. It's really a shame too.

Which has nothing to do with the topic, as he pointed out.

Thank you, we're trying to be rational here.

Have you played the game?  Because evidently, you couldn't tell which ones were in-game and which ones were prerendered.  And if you haven't seen these games in person, I don't know why you are in this thread.

Based on those pictures only, I'm going with no. The most impressive thing out of that group is the Alfred Molina tech demo. If something more impressive is presented through pics then I'll change my opinion.

Then I must point out that the demo lacks important shader techniques like subsurface scattering which would make theskin more realistic. At the moment its very plasticky. So in saying that as the demo doesn't represent 5 years of shader development it already looks worse than many current and soon to be released games.

Perhaps you couldn't but to me it was obvious as the differences between Mass Effect 2's actual graphics and the CGI commercial or FFXIII's FMV compared to it's actual.
