Welll this is where I am at so far. I have 99 of every item, 99 lives for every character, all star coins in all words except for 7, 8, and 9, and i have 81,000,000 points. All I need to do now is get all the remaining star coins, check for all paths to be open, get my points to 99,999,999 (i need about 19,000,000 more points), and check to make sure i watched all those stupid movies at the castle in world 1.

so how far are you guys?

I got all the star coins, but can't finish world 9-7. Come to think of it, I've never even completed a 2D Mario.

I have one thing you don't, though: 99 gameovers on all 4 characters.

I knew trying to max out my points was going to be a daunting task, but I was willing to do it because the game is so incredibly easy I felt like I had to do a little bit more to be satisfied. Simply getting five shiny stars wasn't enough.

But to answer your question... According to my play time on the Nintendo channel, I have played this game for a little over 100 hours. A lot of that time consisted of me and my friends dicking around though. If you just play through the game you  can probably net 6 or 7 million points, so just think of playing through it 13 to 17 times or some shit like that and you can get 99,999,999.

lol. NSMB Wii is the easiest game I have 100%ed this gen. Showing off would be making a thread about how I got 1100 on BioShock or 1050 on Mass Effect, or 1000 on Guitar Hero, 1100 on Lost Odyssey.. The list goes on and on. But yea.

I guess I am just a the most hardcore Mario fan here on VGC. =]

I have four stars. Only one I can't be assed to get is the one where you have to find all secret exits on every level.

Yikes, that's dedication.

I've beaten the game and gotten most of the secret paths, but for the secret world I only have 1 level unlocked an beaten thus far. I'm not too keen on going back and collecting all the coins right now. Collecting fests and scavenger hunts don't really do it for me, at least not on a 2-D sidescroller.

I have something like 40 lives and have gotten maybe 75% of the coins, though that's just a rough estimate.

I have all star coins on all levels and 99 lives, but I don't think I've quite found all the cannons. I'm not doing so great on the other players because no one else in my house is good enough to build their lives up. Luigi is on his 50th continue!
