So a nunchuck too? Isn't this just a complete copycat of the wii?

MS will get round to doing a wand/nunchuk eventually. I don't see them letting Sony have the best FPS controls for long.

Your opinion.

What do you think they'll do for shooters? Point and say "bang"? Stick with dual analogue?

No, use the 360 controller, one of the best of all time.

I'm not so sure. Online FPS is very competitive.

To Seece, I prefer the PS3 controller, but im with you, a controller control better, its more precise. Unless you have a gun you can aim with 2 hands while someones moving camera for you, ill stick with the controller. Ill be happy to use a motion controller to play flower though... lol

You might prefer dual analog but the Wiimote, Arc and mouse are all/will be more accurate. Motion has nothing to do with it. If MW2 is patched with arc support like Resi 5 is then Sony could take the shooter crown from MS. Take a look at the overwhelmingly positive reception Resi 4 on Wii received.

Why are you comparing wiimote, arc with a computer mouse???

Because they are all pointer controls that improve precision in FPS, RTS, anything that involves pointing and clicking/shooting.

Well ok... Maybe im the only person to be more precise with a mouse on a flat surface than with a remote in my hand aiming with my arm in the air.

Try resting your arm on a flat surface instead of waving it in the air. I find it helps.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Has anyone stopped to consider just how a wireless nunchuck attachment would work? The PS3 as I recall can connect with up to 7 bluetooth enabled assessories. If we have a motion controller and wireless nunchuck each take up one of those slots than we can only have a maximum combination of 3 remote/nunchuck players playing any game at once with one slot left over for an additional DualShock 3/Motion Controller/Wireless Headset.

It would probably be much more cost effective for Sony to simply attach the two with a cable the way that Nintendo does and the lower price could drive more sales of the assessory as well.

I guess that if they are able to upgrade hardware such as hdmi or blue-ray through firmware they should be able to also do it with their bluetooth hardware. Its only a guess though, but are you sure theres in fact a rule of 7 bluetooth accessories maximum?

Im not convince it can be as precise as a mouse even with an experience player, but ill try some more when I have the chance, ill use your advice before building a final opinion. Since you seems to have used Wii control a lot, Ill give you benefit of doubts for now.

I wouldn't say it's as precise as a mouse but it's much closer to a mouse than it is to dual analog.

Could easily just use a USB wireless dongle for it like they do with RB/GH (not sure which, Ill have to check my guitar) as to not take up any BT slots.

As for upping the total number of BT, I believe that can be done through Firmware.  We had a similar problem with something here at work and the manufactorer fixed the total number of connections through it via firmware.

let me just outline what i gathered from this thread so far:

-a wireless Nunchuck would be BAD because its a Wiimote ripoff

-no wireless Nunchuck would be BAD because the Wiimote does it best

-Sony and Microsoft have been downplaying Motion control until they came out with their own solution, but motion control will NOT catch on with the HD consoles.

i'm starting to get confused

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

sony should go dual wand. I've said this all along. Use the middle thing that's a button of sorts as a analogue and dual wield the bastards.. that's the perfect motion controller. Works properly for fps without having to point at the freakin edge of the screen to turn around too.
