also controller issue, the Classic Controller is really nothing like the N64 pad

The C buttons can be mapped to an analogue stick or to some other buttons. There would be a learning curve.

It would be unplayble, imagine playing Goldeneye or Perfect Dark like that...

I presume this is meant to be a knowingly wry comment, what with the Perfect Dark remake and all...

I'm apprehensive about the controls too, but it's the most sensible configuration for the current controllers.

wow I dident even think of Perfect Dark remake...

maybe im way too used to a N64 pad for those games

Button to stick mapping isn't that bad for other N64 VC releases. And actually, they could throw in optional control schemes to use ABXY as the C buttons, and move A/B to Z1/Z2.

I suppose "remake" isn't quite the right word for it, but I saw Ken Lobb's video (renowned for the Klobb, of course) where he said that the x-box live version has improved graphics, framerate and a couple of extra unlockables/secrets - so I think it will be halfway between a remake and a straight port.

ugh I hated that gun, so useless

There's only 1 N64 FPS that I want to play on the VC, looks like it's never gonna be released though.....

What you've described is pretty much a remake.  Also, the extra content is Goldeneye levels.

It's an updated port, certainly not what I would envision when the word 'remake' is used. Anyway Ken also mentioned that the C-buttons are mapped to the right analogue stick, so essentially the same way that the N64 games work on the classic controller.

@Jarrod, PD already has a lot of Goldeneye content in it, including multiplayer maps and weapons.

Solution: Make the controls dual-analog.

This is actuallly what Rare has done to the XBLA reincarnation of Perfect Dark.

Edit: I see my response is too late.

Metroid Zero Mission was a remake

Resident Evil on the Gamecube was a remake

If you compare this release to those games, it falls fairly far short.
