Indeed! Though I can't wait to try Vanguard on Insantiy, that will be interesting.

I played as a Vanguard. It was alright. Wish I had more abilities though.

As some people have stated, if you up the game difficulty, you have to take control of your AI teammates. You have to position them in the right spots, You have to map their abilities to the DPad so you are in control when they use them and on what target.
If you just run into the fray hoping the AI will do everything correct then thats a silly mindset since there isn't any game out there that does it. ME2 is great because it does so many things great compared to the little things that it doesn't.
They are pretty good on their own most of the time, but they will die alot. But there are some instances where you need to position them or they just die in like 2 seconds. But they sometimes just do not want to listen.
I've never had them 'not listen' before, and someone mentioned glitches on the krogan planet, what were they?
I've only seen 1 glitch where a geth got stuck in an animation.
I'm doing a runthrough on Insanity for the achievement.
Its brutally difficult, but I am not running into the AI problems. My squad's AI has been pretty good up 'til where I am. The only real fusterating part I was at was Purgatory at the Warden, as it felt like the enemies were going to spawn forever (I must have killed 40 guys before dying).
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
They will not follow orders. Your characters will float in the air, and then fall through the level and then fall from the sky and die. They will sometimes just freeze and not do anything and then die from being out in the open. Pieces of the level were actually falling for me. IDK if that was a glitch or not, but I found it odd.
Was just the Krogan recruit mission.
The AI isn't bad. There are times when the AI does amazing things at lower difficulties.
I think the problem is expecting the AI to play better then yourself.
I haven't played on insanity, but I expect that you need to position your party and tell them what to do.
Also, I don't think overrated is the right term to use. Sounds as if you're frustrated, and have some criticisms of the game at higher difficulty.

Play the game on Insanity first then. It isn't like they are un-reliable but their are times in intense combat fighting where you want to kill them yourself for being DUMMB.
Seriously, you have like 15 people shooting at you, so let's run out in the open field and go rambo on their asses! ...oh wait your DEAD.

Oh wow, none of that happened to me. Maybe I've been lucky?
About your latest comment though, who do you usually use? I mostly use Miranda, the Quarian, Archangel, and the last character. None of them ever run too far out, only maybe to a bit of cover.
