Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox 360 looks strong in 2010. How will Sony fight back?

This will be the second year that the ps3 and 360 have an equal year.....

2006- no contest it was the 360's year

2007- no contest it was the 360's year (best year for hd gaming)

2008- Equal between both hd consoles

2009- No contest it was the ps3's year

2010 is looking to be equal to the 360's 07 year while 2010 is looking to be the ps3's strongest year ever.....this is going to be good.

"Sony looks good, but not as strong as they were in 2009"

Strange thing to say with sales up YOY and GT5 probably selling more than 2009's exclusives combined. Plus Q1/2 is crowded with Sony published games. They answer their own question about the second half of the year too. Looks fantastic for both.

i like the article.
i still think fanboys will be the only one looking at this article negatively.

non-fanboys = WIN WIN this year whichever consoles you prefer or have (yes, even the wii). =P

I had a new Motorstorm pegged in for a holiday release this year, but it turned out SCE Liverpool are deeply involved in the 3D tech, so might not be working on a title at the moment.

Insomniac will likely have Resistance 3, or a new IP for the holidays.

Eat Sleep Play, Media Molecule and Lightbox Interactive may all have titles in the works that could release this holiday season.

I don't think there will be a lack of exclusives, just in an unusual turnaround the 360 seems to have most of it's lineup shown, while Sony are remaining tight lipped about their own.

The 360 started off the year with a bang. Mass Effect 2 is alot of fun. Imho, Mass Effect 2 is the best game in quite awhile. However, the PS3 has some serious games coming shortly. God of War 3 is coming in March. Heavy Rain is getting good reviews while Alan Wake is not out yet. Not to mention, the monster that is GT5 in the fall. I think it is a little early to write Sony off.

The motion controls is leaning Microsoft's way true, but neither product is anywhere close to shipping. This also does not say anything about a surprise from the big N. Still, I do think this will be a good year to be a gamer.
