This was not a good example of a post for how Sony has diversity. God of War and Dark Rain are considered mature titles. Now, you look at the entire library, and you see a wide range of titles, particularly when ModNation hits. But for exclusives now, that are set to be released, it isn't that diverse.

Well this post was also not intended to show the entire library as examples, just picked one and that with the two games which are about to release. Well there could have been a different post to cover all of them though.

I was saying showing the entire library would be a better example of how they have everything covered, with Mod Nation covering the kart deficiency Sony has.  I don't see them being too diverse this season in their releases.  For what they are releasing, it is set to be real good, but still feels like it falls a bit short though.

I didn't realise that age rating was the only descriptor of diversity. That's like saying that Fifa and Mario are the same game because they're rated E.

More generally, God of War and Heavy Rain, leading in as proof of Sony being very diverse alone, isn't enough to really show they are diverse.  If you were to do a sample of the current PS3 library AND add what is coming out this year, then you show there is a lot of diversity.  The thing is it isn't the releases this year that show that.  That is what I was saying.

Quite diverse

I was saying IF you took the entire library PLUS what is due out this year, that is diverse.  This year alone isn't the best examples for diversity.

I think ubiquity beats diversity any day of the week. Sony would probably admit that privately at least as well.

Tease.

I hope heavy rain succeeds, I would love to see more high quality mature orientated games on the PS3.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

yeah..Should be desperate enough to admit the fact that they are trying to excel in almost every department.

Huh? What do you mean.

In any case they would trade all their 'diverse' games if they could have just 3 franchises with the attach rate of Mario Kart, NSMB and SMG.

yeah..they would see to the diversity remaining along with new franchises that can bring same attach rate, if ubiquity is what they embrace.

Its how they work in their movie/music business. Wide appeal + lots and lots of marketing is their mantra.

Especially in these times Sony can't ask for more but deliver the best it can.
