In any case they would trade all their 'diverse' games if they could have just 3 franchises with the attach rate of Mario Kart, NSMB and SMG.

yeah..they would see to the diversity remaining along with new franchises that can bring same attach rate, if ubiquity is what they embrace.

Its how they work in their movie/music business. Wide appeal + lots and lots of marketing is their mantra.

Especially in these times Sony can't ask for more but deliver the best it can.
