Forums - General Discussion - When is it time to shave?

Okay this is a question I wouldn't like to talk about with family members or close friends, so I thought maybe my VGChartz friends could help. I'm 15 and I have a mustache, it's still even growing but as time goes by it gets more noticeable. You cant really tell much by my photo because I kind of like diminishing the sight of its existence. So should I shave yet? Is it the right time or should I wait? What are the negative consequences of shaving at this young age if any. My parents are like it will get thicker once when they thought I shaved.

Your parents are right.. when you start shaving there is no stopping to it anymore.. when I started shaving at 16 it was gone for weeks but ten years later i'm shaving every day and the hairs is thicker then back then.. It's annoying but luckly mt gf don't mind a days beard... but if you start use a triple blade razor.. Wash Face with Soap And Hot Water , Dont Dry , Apply A Skin Sensitive Shaving Cream.. DON'T use a electric one.. your skin can't handle that yet.. lubrication is the key to avoid rashes..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I waited until I was 14 to shave, but I hit puberty early, so I was a hairy kid. I didn't shave my mustache back then though, so it looks odd (to me at least - other people don't seem to think so). So, my advice to you is to shave everything when you start.

Also, about the thicker thing, I've heard this a lot, but if you shave every 2-3 weeks, it shouldn't be too bad I imagine (although, I do admit, I am not an expert in this particular sort of thing).

Keep the moustache, 15 year-olds with moustaches crack me up!

But yeah, shaving stimulates the hair folicles on your face, so the more you shave the more hair grows. Works that way in your nether regions as well unfortunately, so you have to keep up with that or it'll get frickin' forest-ey down there.

I started at 16, but my hair wasn't very noticeable because I had blonder hair back then.

I had a mustache and sideburns in middle school. Yeah it can be annoying at that age because it's just not thick enough to look good.
I absolutely abhor mustaches personally but i think you could make it work for you so don't focus on it so much as a negative thing. If you absolutely don't like it however then you should just go ahead and shave it off. It'll look worse as it's growing back in though.

"What have i done.? Is it too late to save me from this place? From the depths of the grave? We all are those .. who thought we were brave."

I had a mustache at 14 and never shaved, and one day my friends told me all of things people said behind my back.....
I shave weekly now.

lol I'm a hairy kid too, and uhm no one was talking about about down "there" lol. I have only shaved the sides and so far its gone smoothly. But idk, my girl friends are like "Daniel you are so cute" but with a mustache im going to look horrifically funny.
