Acting performance, story telling and facial expressions I find important for these sort of games. So Mass Effect 1 was unconvincing for me, videos of ME2 look similar to me and Heavy Rain much better.
IMO Mass Effect 1 was overrated/overhyped, too buggy, repetitive and lacked some atmospheric ingredients for me.

Well too bad Mass Effect 1 & 2 are not the same game then, right? ME2 fixes almost everything about the first game, but it does take out weapons customability. One of the problems I had with #1 is that some of the characters were like cardboard and not likeable.. That is definetly not the case with the sequel.
Apparently though, edge agrees with your opinion of Mass Effect 1, but they gave #2 a 90%.. So.. Just go buy it off of steam. The experience is better if you play the first one right before diving in again, but it should still be an awesome role playing experience nonetheless.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
