NPD is only US. And its very common for the 360 to outsell the PS3 in America.
Long Live SHIO!

Let's try to keep the discussion to the US in this thread as the original post is about the NPD.
Good for xbox I guess. Mass Effect totally demolished the sale charts for only one week of release. Still though, I only care about WW, in which ps3 is winning :)
The 360 numbers are certainly surprising. I was expecting the PS3 to eat into the 360 sales yet it's not happening by much if at all.
Currently playing on PS3: God of War III
Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII
Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger
Good to see the 360 outsells the PS3 again in the North American region.
360 up 8% on January 2009. PS3 up 36% on January 09. Wii, DS and PSP considerably down on January 09. PS2 = 10 years old and on its last legs. More price cuts will be needed towards the end of the year on the 7th generation console systems. Price cuts can only be avoided if the upcoming new games and add-ons boost sales considerably.
North America is the key market accounting for around 50% of the whole video game industry sales. The sales trend indicates the 7th generation systems(consoles and handhelds) have all peaked in sales and will continue to decline over the next few years.
Well 360 is winning for now since Sony is holding PS3 stocks back. So enjoy this as much as you can for now :)
Everyone needs to settle down.
Nowhere does it say US=the world, nor does it say the 360 outsold the PS3 worldwide. It says NPD which means America only, so quit bitchin.
What about Worldwire Major Douchebag Nelson?
EDIT: I retire the douchebag, he's just doing his job. I'm sorry for the rudeness.
lol at sony defense force
Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^
