Good to see the 360 outsells the PS3 again in the North American region.
360 up 8% on January 2009. PS3 up 36% on January 09. Wii, DS and PSP considerably down on January 09. PS2 = 10 years old and on its last legs. More price cuts will be needed towards the end of the year on the 7th generation console systems. Price cuts can only be avoided if the upcoming new games and add-ons boost sales considerably.
North America is the key market accounting for around 50% of the whole video game industry sales. The sales trend indicates the 7th generation systems(consoles and handhelds) have all peaked in sales and will continue to decline over the next few years.
