The title says all. There are rumors about a new generation annoucement.

Personally I think it is too soon since we had pearl/ diamond,  then platinum, now we are getting gold and silver. I think a release

of a new generation plasma, uranium or whatever is not a wise idea. It will do the guitar heroe patern and reduce the potential sale of the serie

even with a bigger market than before. I'm ready to bet that if it happens it won't beat diamond and pearl sales. I also think (while a hope for

the oposite) that there will not have much improvment in the serie excluding some gimmick as the pokewalker. For me the next entry needs to

be far more challenging, have a huge and easly accessible online mode and maybe change a bit the classic plot with some additional chalenges

other than endless battle towers.

the 5th gen is coming out in 2010 in japan meaning 4 years past since Diamond and Pearl came out making it tied for the longest gen so i dont think its to soon

I'd say it's too soon, atleast to me. Since every new generation comes with more content, it's appropiate to give it more time to actually flourish. +1 year for every new poke gen!

Anyway, the fourth generation is the longest one so far. Why don't people realize this? I want to see topics saying why they waited so long to release info and release the games.

The amount of time between each game is a good point, but still, its on the same system. There probably won't have any real graphical improvment. So especially after gold and silver i'm affraid that the game will feel very similar to other versions on the DS...

Oh and I did not know that is was no more a rumor. We got the new pokemon revealed but I missed the anoncement I guess.

@travis its to soon to tell but game freak was hiring someone to do 3d modeling a while back http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=99629. so they may have a graphical upgrade in the 5th gen. i think that the 5th gen will be dsi enhanced just like gold and silver was with the game boy color.

I've never said I don't like it, in fact, it's my favourite franchise from Nintendo. However, people should step up and speak when something MUST STOP. Look at that ugly thing called Zoroark: it's a TELEFANG, not a Pokémon! I don't mind new game, I don't mind new moves, new abilites or any changes in gameplay, but they must STOP CREATING STUPID AND UGLY SPECIES.
