Also, about making the campaign 15 hours. Not every game needs to be these 15-20+ hour epic adventures. Something like 8 hours is about perfect for Gears because it's long enough to keep the player wanting more without wearing out its welcome.

If it were much longer than that, they would either have to add new systems or the gameplay would start to feel incredibly stale.

not for me, if they kept adding levels such as the giant fish, the cool tunnel scene before the giant fish, and with funny dialogue, it would never get tiresom for me :D

For the hard core Gears fan, perhaps, for everyone else, they would get bored of the game 12 hours in and not finish it.  With most games, people won't play longer than 12 hours and 8-10 is about the right length.

Sure, you would love those extra 7 hours of play, but that would be A LOT of extra work that most people wouldn't even play and would risk the game wearing out its welcome.

Remember though, it will take a lot more time to release a game of that size, therfore i dont think people would get tied of it as there would be soooo much time to get it done

No, that doesn't really matter so much.  If anything, it will only agitate fans more and make them expect greater (and a longer game doesn't make it greater).

Personally id rather it be on one disk. The campaign on gears 2 was atrocious and theres no way i would want the campaign to be any longer. As for Multiplayer ill probably wait to buy gears 3 until i know for sure the multiplayer isnt going to suck as much

The multiplayer is fixed, so Gears 2 has a great multiplayer now (imo)

Cant stand it. No only is it extremely dependant on having a good host but i was a fan of gears 1 multiplayer and the MP in the second is an abomination. Im sorry but the lancer is WAY too overpowered, smoke grenades are too over powered and every other weapon is underpowered esp the shotgun

Long Live SHIO!

What if Ninjabreadman was an incredible game? Who the crap knows, the what if game is pretty worthless to play.

Think the Kryll are extinct so doubt youll see them in Gears 3, though is RazorHail good enough for you? Not come up against Berserkers as I didnt play Gears 1, they should come back in Gears 3 but maybe where you come across them as part of a group of enemies (would this work?).

Have you read the novels that bridge the gaps between the games, because these will probably give you a good idea of what to expect. I think the Stranded and the Lambent are going to play a bigger part.

The smoke grenades are now underpowered, they removed the knock down and then the stun effects in updates, which basically made them useless. The shotgun was overpowered, temperamental and didnt work like a proper shotgun. Most players use it as their rifle of choice and its effective and massive distances.
