@GodOfWar_3ever - Just because a game isn't AAA exclusive material doesn't make it a joke, neither does it make it only attractive to a certain gamer on one console. You only further fuel comparison arguments when you belittle other games, this is why those comparisons end up so ugly. Finally you haven't played DI either so how do you know its just an average game, making such a revelation having not played through the game shows you to be hugely biased anyway on this topic so your words mean very little.

For the record I don't care about DI or GOW particularly anyway.

I said compared to GoW its a joke because its clearly "inspired" by it, but not as good. Comparisions were done ever since this game was announced.

did you read my entire post or just the first line ?

If you don't care about either franchise I dont expect you to understand how DI copies GoW down to the T. And the demo was enough for me to deduce that it would be average because of its noticeable small scale and button mashable combat. I got a 236 hit combo in the demo by just mashing square. People (Haters) call GoW a button masher. Yes it is in the lower difficulties. But in the more challenging ones GoW is nightmarish...

Yes I always read all of peoples posts.  I'm sorry but judging a game off a demo which isn't always representative of the final product is stupid byy any metric.  I look forward to you defending this stance when the haters start trashing GOW3 based on the demo when it releases....

Yes...but the demo was very poor for me and I doubt the final game changes that...and you dont need to play the full game to see its rather small scaled too... and you have these major reviewers who gave the game average scores

Edge - 6

Eurogamer - 6

IGn 7.5

IGN UK - 7

GameSpot - 6.5

GT - 6.8

Thats enough for me to judge that this game is just average..

and GoW does have a lot of haters...I dont care about what they think about the demo...what does the full game of DI has that the demo didn't..wwe saw the magic, the cutscenes and the gameplay..

The GoW 3 demo didnt have cutscenes (One of its strongest parts) or magic (important gameplay mechanic)...

Comparing Dante's Inferno to Ninja Gaiden is blasphemy.

Who did that ? lol...

i would even say Sony pushes the game to a certain degree.
They put all the making of videos on PSN, they mentioned it twice now in Pulse.

they wouldn't have to do that.

I believe Sony wants Dante's Inferno to be a success. Because it can bring other people to the God of War Franchise. People who enjoy a game always want more of the same, and God of War will be perfect!

but if Dante's Inferno fails it might put people off who are new to that sort of game.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Nope. It's a transparently derivative game. It was derived from God of War just as Dead Space was derived from Resident Evil. For some reason, reviewers sometimes (but only sometimes) grow to resent such things.

That's leaving aside how good the game actually is compared to GoW, which I have no idea about.

I'm sorry but the similarities between Resident Evil and Dead Space are not even close to the number of complete similarities between Dante's Inferno and God Of War.

I've heard of people getting accused of paying for better reviews, but people paying for worse reviews? Really?

Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Do you still have doubts?

two very convincing arguments I have to say...

anyways, it's always good to have similar games as your crown jewel on your console, it helps gather the fans for the big show!

BTW, if you want to talk about how much better Dante is than GoW you should probably put atleast one GoW game in your owned games list even if it's a lie. That way someone might listen to your opinion about the two....maybe.

I do not lie,I have everygame from my games list,I`m not a liar.

I have finished both GOW games and i like them, but i don`t have them so I will not put them in my list.

And yes,it`s my opinion, and I am asking yours. Nobody has to agree to anything, the people`s opinion is important.

Are you a SONY/PS3 hater?

No,I do not hate the ps3 and I think GOW is a true system seller.

But I can`t lie about my game list,it`s just me.

Ontopic -> reviewers have compared Dante with GOW everytime and all the time, but Dante offers something unique,it`s about the experience you have with the game. Not everyone`s experience has been a 6,8 or a 7. I just think the review are low foe no reason.

I only played the demo but I actually thought the game was pretty good. The controls seemed tight, the action and feel of the game was fun and satisfying and the production value seemed pretty polished. The story seemed like it had potential and based on such a famous piece of literature I'm sure it was decent at worst. Had I not played the GOW games already I would have thought this game was amazing, but since I had I just think it's a fun game that did a good job on expanding the GOW experience with different characters and story. How much I'd discount the review score for being similar to GOW I'm not sure but from a standpoint of enjoyability, I felt it was more than adequate for an 7.5/8 score. If I had never played GOW I might have been wowed into giving it a 9. ANd since many gamers out there, especially young ones, have not played the GOW games before, then the game would be a 9 experience for them.

I guess as the video game industry moves forward the merit to reviews are tending to diverge into two directions. Review as a praise for something new and fresh and something artistic or review as a praise for something that is just flat out fun for the casual fan. Should a game be docked for unoriginality? I guess if they are reviewing the game on the bases of artistic praise but if the game is being reviewed for how enjoyable it is. Fun is fun whether it's been done before or not.
