Well since no else has taken the plunge... here's the VGC comparisons...

Dark Cloud (PS2) - 1.23m (+0.04m)
Dark Chronicle (PS2) - 0.90m (+0.01m)
Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) - 4.99m (+0.09m)
Rogue Galaxy (PS2) - 0.77m (-0.01m)
Jeanne d'Arc (PSP) - 0.30m (+0.09m)**
Professor Layton Series (DS) - 8.78m (-0.40m)*
Inazuma Eleven Series (DS) - 1.41m (-0.13m)*
Atamania Series (DS) - 0.35m (-0.09m)*
White Knight Chronicles (PS3) - 0.36m (even)*
Dragon Quest IX (DS) - 4.17m (+0.02m)*

TOTAL (all) 23.26m (-0.38m)*

*shipments don't reflect Q1 2010 while sales do

** VGC sales don't include Europe (overtrackaton!)

...overall it came out pretty close.  Undertracking L5's own DS games sort of counterbalanced overtracking Sony/DQ games.

1. VGC sales do track Europe...

2. The numbers match the total shipments for games like Dark Cloud 1 + 2 Level 5 posted at GDC... not sure why they have changed since then

Game Shipments (m) VGC Sellthrough (m) Difference (Shipments - VGC)
Dark Cloud (PS2) 1.19 1.23 -0.04
Dark Chronicle (PS2) 0.89 0.90 -0.01
Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) 4.90 4.99 -0.09
Rogue Galaxy (PS2) 0.78 0.77 0.01
Jeanne d'Arc (PSP) 0.21 0.30 -0.09
Professor Layton Series (DS) 9.18 8.78 0.40
Inazuma Eleven Series (DS) 1.54 1.41 0.14
Atamania Series (DS) 0.44 ?? ??
White Knight Chronicles (PS3) 0.36 0.36 0.00
Dragon Quest IX (DS) 4.15 4.17 -0.02

Overall, not to bad for VGChartz. Layton has good stock since it is still selling really well. Inazuma has less stock as it sells slower and I only think 1 game is still really on shelves.

The only one that is significantly off is Jeanne d'Arc, as that is 42% off, but the rest are only ~3% off.

EDIT: I didn't notice that Jeanne d'Arc didn't contain Other data, so it is even further off than that.

EDIT 2: I was just informed that Jeanne d'Arc wasn't released in others

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

1. Not for Jeanne D'Arc, which is the only game with a **

2. Really? That's weird then, these figures come directly from L5 as well. :/

Jeanne d'Arc has never been released in Europe.

Take a look at my photos on flickr

Oh, I forgot to mention, VGC is only tracking 4 of Level-5's six Atamania releases so far. It has Sloan & McHale 1-2 and Tago Akira Vol. 1-2, while Tago Akira Vol. 3-4 are missing. The latter series of brain puzzlers are really low budget sellers though, so it's not surprising... neither ever made top 30 weekly.

Really?  Ugh, I never knew that?!

Dumb move imo, you'd think they'd actually want to release the game in the region it takes place in? :/

Yes best jrpg developer, come to NA you welcome!!!
