The Sims 3 is headed to consoles. And handhelds. What's surprising here isn't the fact the game is making the move, but why it's taken so long.

The game is listed as part of EA's financial results report from earlier today, with the placeholder title "The Sims 3 on Console Title". Catchy. It's scheduled for a Q3 release.

EA say the game will be appearing on both console and handheld, so if you want t speculate that means 360, PS3, Wii, DS & PSP, don't let us keep you.

cool, is it going to be the same game with all the features of the pc though? if so, i might actually get this!

I will have a good PC by the time those versions come out.

Not surprising given the success of the sims on consoles before. I doubt its sales will come close to the pc version but EA would have been fools not to port it.

I used to be a huge Sims fan, but I haven't played any of the games since the expansions of the 1st and The Sims on PS2. I'll have to find out more information to see if it is worthy enough.

Man, I completely forgot about the Sims 3. I bought it, played it, and then got pissed off they wanted me to buy all the additional furniture that should have been there in the first place and never played it again.

Sims 3 isn't supposed to come with less than Sims 2.

I know it's off topic, but whatever, it was bullshit that they put so little in Sims 3. It would be bad enough if it were just so little they included and then later allowed you to download the additional stuff, but the fact you could nearly double what you started with day 1 was bullshit, especially when Sims 2 came that amount of content.

I don't have a problem with DLC, that's fine, I don't even have a problem with day one DLC, I'm cool with that too, it was just bullshit that the game was full price and then they gave you next to nothing and expected you to buy everything else ontop of the game.

Makes a lot of sense. Sims 3 PCs sales are at least 4-5 million by now. Time to cash in on the consoles as well.
