Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo must reinvent Mario for him to survive

These are freaking fantastic ideas, I would especially love a Resistance: Fall of Mario.

Those last three words, that's exactly what will happen.

World of Mariocraft could actually be pretty cool.

I just can't stop thinking of ign after reading this

Actually.. now that you mention it, this is how IGN thinks now-a-days. They would have published this as a serious editorial. :-p

Mario Warfare = Mario shoots at stuff and things happen.

Mario Kart Theft = Mario is gansta, steals cars, and kills prostitutes.

Heavy Mario = A movie plays with Mario in it and you occasionally get to press a button.

Gears of Mario = Mario is a big, hulky badass that shoots at stuff and things happen.

Mario Gear Solid = A movie plays with Mario in it and you occasionally get to press a button. Mario can also get the "cardboard box" suit.

Mario doesn't need to change, his games, his image, his charm

Changes are always be good for making any products more attractive and interesting. I think in this image Mario seems more powerful and impressive.

LOL why don't they make a Grand Theft Mario? Killing Toads, stealing karts and deal about drugs with Bowser!

When I first saw your thread, I agreed completely with you, but not in the way you are thinking. What Nintendo has to do is now to improve further Mario platforming, real Mario's roots, change the formula somewhere and create brand new loveable characters like they did so well with Yoshi in SMW or Bowsy in Sunshine.

"Seriously Nintendo, no serious gamers want a Wii, if you want our loveable Mario to survive, please unleash his future games on real consoles."

Mario has never been so well in shape than on the Wii. I don't think he struggles to survive right now, with Mario Kart Wii sales of 21 million, Brawl with 9.5 million, Galaxy with 8.5 M, NSMBW with 11.5 M.

He will survive of course, but not by going multiplatform. Then he would die like Rare did by going with MS. Mario doesn't appeal to Xbox FPS lovers.

Gotta love satire.

And we all know that sales have been plummiting from lack of drastic changes, right?

The last point really brings the whole article together in a superb way. Way to go random blogger! (He even has a Knuckles avatar. He's a man after my own heart )

Seriously though, no serious gamers want a Wii. You will be assimilated. Or something.
