EEDAR says game advertising works.
EA spent (estimated) $2.6M (USD) for a 30-second spot for Dante's Inferno during the Super Bowl. (That was the estimated cost of advertising on the telecast of the Super Bowl -- the championship game of American football).
How will that help sales?
How does that compare to other games total PR budgets? (Related, what games might have sold better if there had been a good ad campaign. I am thinking specifically of the Wii but this is open-ended).

I am Mario. I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
