I think it's a no-brainer that Nintendo will bring Kirby to the Wii sooner or later. It is extremely popular in Japan, a rare commodity these days and i think it would have strong WW sales. I thought Kirby 64 was a really good game. I think they called it a 2.5d platformer at the time. Iirc some of the purists slammed it for a variety of reasons.

Then there was air ride on the GC which, again i enjoyed but, although it had quite a cult following, again the purists hated it.

Personally for the Wii i would prefer a 3d platformer but with something entirely new to the series, using the Wii's interface intelligently. As long as you can still turn into a fridge i will be happy.

Everything It has brought into it's 2D games, only slighty better and most likely motion control.

I think Kirby will come this year, given that Nintendo has a recent policy of only announcing games a couple of months before they are released. Nintendo needs as many of its big hitters out as possible in 2010 to keep momentum from NSMBWii. It is quite popular in Japan too. You only have to look at the recent DS Kirby's sales. I predict it will come out around April time in Japan, summer/Autumn in the west. I think the mention of Kirby in the Japan launch list somehow seems more "convincing" this time.

Kirby Wii? Lately people have been acting as if the game's been officially shown already.
I'll believe the game exists when I see it.
