Yes I've been pondering for quite some time on whether to get FF7, but I'll get FF8 instead now.

 

Yes I will do that too,  Final Fantasy XIII wasn't even on my radar a couple of days ago, but now I'm quited psyched for it.. :D

If you like FFX, play FFX-2.. It was great in many ways (more cheerfull, enjoyable battlesystem, lots of sidequests, 5 endings etc. etc.).

Since you have a psp I guess you could try the original and FFII aswell, although I'd prob download 7 & 8 on your psp before playing those.

Well basicly they're all good, the only one I didn't like of those I've played was FFXI but that's an MMORPG, not quite the same.. ;)

As much as I love X-2, I'll suggest you stay away from it unless you are a fan of great gameplay.

Get Final Fantasy XII, all Final Fantasy games are based on personal preference, I personally enjoyed it a lot.

Final Fantasy X-2 was good too, pretty good sequel.

You should get Crisis Core for the PSP too, thats my favorite Final Fantasy game!!!

Every single one is at least a DECENT game. You'll like some more than others offcourse but none of them is trash...

If you stay away from every game that people tell you, then you might miss out on a good game you might enjoy. Try out all FF if you want, I can only give props to VII and X. I have played a little bit of VIII but not enough to give a good opinion. FF 1 and FF tactics are good too!
