I knew it had to happen.. but really? I was kind of hoping that the new Alice in Wonderland movie (which looks amazing!) would dethrone it next month.. but ah well. These numbers are estimates BTW we won't know the actual numbers until tomorrow afternoon.

Maybe when Avatar wins Best Picture and all that it will come back... that's what happened with Titanic.

It could only hold on so long.

If those number hold true its still the highest grossing 8th weekend US box office total for any movie beating Titanic's $23,027,838. That's the highest grossing weekend from week 2-8 for Avatar so far. Also the best Oscar boost for a movie happened last year when Slumdog Millionaire made $12,026,343 during its 16th weekend at the US box office.

I hope Valentines Day bombs big time it made my top ten list of movies I'm not looking forward to in 2010.
