Well i think they would have done the bundle pricecut. But no i dont see it coming till 2011, unless Nintendo feel pressureed :/

And yeah the wii is really dying, but not dead. Dont forget that the PS3 was in this position adn so was the PSP. I still think it can have some temporary boosts with DQX, MH, and other nintendo announcements. But i've said this a long time ago, PS3 adn wii will balance each other for the rest of this gen, and right now the PS3 is on the better side with a good momentum that wont die anytime soon. Thats for sure!


Yes ps3 had bad sales in 2008 (and before)  but Sony was actively trying to do something. They were introducing new bundles and colors and limited editions with the speed of machine gun and had constant stream of exclusives as well as plenty of multiplatform games. While Nintendo seems to be ignoring current sales. I can understand problems with matching sony speed of game releases with 3DS around the corner but they still could try some console bundles, new colors, some kind of greatest hits line

I reckon it will be much later than that, sometime in 2011 it will be, PS3 will be ahead of wii for all the remaining weeks in 2010 in Japan and WW.

I still think that Wii should win Xmas WW anyway, due to its typical user base, features, price and SW offer.

I belive NSMBWIi may boost WIi HW again since no doubt there's lot of people out there who are willing to buy one but haven't got round to it yet, this is when the red wii bundled with NSMBWii comes in, I think this will at least Help Wii.  But still the recent low sales indicate that Wii will not sell mass amount, the highest it will sell in December will be like 500,000 WW.

500k WW best December week would be a little too low even not taking into account that the family friendliness usually gives Wii a bigger Xmas boost than to competitors: both XB360 and PS3 in the past had better December weeks starting from slower seasons weeks even lower than the current Wii ones.

What's for sure, though, is that even if Wii dominates next December, it won't be a domination as strong and overwhelming as in the past, and in Japan it won't be even granted any domination. This may be shocking for people used to Wii's performance of the past, but it's far from being dead.

BTW, releasing budget edition of Wii's greatest hits, as Zlejedi suggests, would make it a lot more appealing to potential new users, let's not forget that for new Wii users even games 4 years old are new, unless they already played them at friends'.

PS3 wins again, this time by 7k and during Kirby's launch week, also extending the winning streak to 12 consecutive weeks.

It's now official, PS3 has matched its last year performance, reaching 23 victories this year. 1 more and it would have surpassed it.

It WAS but obviously didn't.

In fact, it gave the PS3 a boost!! lololol. Don't ask how that happened.

It just gives me more thoughts that PS3 is where Console gaming is at in Japan but it's nothing compared to last gen. But still, PS3 is where it's at for Japan now :D

Its very likely that the PS3 will win next week as well.Worst case scenario for the PS3 will be a virtual tie with the Wii,I think...

Updated the OP with one more PS3 bundle. This time it's the "Kojima" bundle. It's a 160 GB PS3 bundled with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and MGS4. Comes out Dec 16.

Even though things currently don't look particularly good for Wii in Japan, what I could see made me think that Wii'll win at least Donkey Kong week.

I asked before, and now im asking again. Aren't nintendo probably announcing the release date for DKCR tomorrow?? Isnt their quarterly financial announcement supposed to happen this week?
