Wii:          Nintendo - 67.14          VGChartz - 65,704,478          Difference - 1.44

360:         Microsoft - 38.7            VGChartz - 36,973,234          Difference - 1.73

PS3:               Sony - 33.52          VGChartz - 30,850,496          Difference - 2.67

I'm not going to question ioi and the data give to us.  I think the problem with some folks lies within PS3 shortages in December and the final difference being a million more than that of the 360 and Wii.

Of course considering the shortages, maybe retailers ordered that extra million and Sony is counting it (someone mentioned this in another thread).

Should adjustments be made?  Maybe, maybe not.

However, I'm not in charge of VGChartz.  I don't know 100% how they get their data.  And if ioi is confident in the numbers then all I can do is accept them and move on.

^^^^^ or maybe that there are more 250gb 350$ slims just sitting around since most want to buy the cheaper 120gb wii and 360 don't have that problem since there skus cost less than the ps3s so thats why there a milll less

although i would like for ps3 to have 1 or both of there peak weeks at amill its really not that much off now i mean n4g even used this site to make a thread called ps3 breaks record 1mill sold in a week

All we are asking is for a recheck is that such a bad thing to ask for?? trust me if this was x360 or wii, there would be similar complaints

I'll be honest.  I feel the same as you.  For me, it's my inner fanboy clawing his way out (NOT calling anyone else a fanboy here fyi).

But I will accept what I am given.  I'd rather have VGChartz than nothing at all.  What other site would I go to thousands of times a day?

If ioi says it is right, I believe him. I would, however, like a bit of an explanation of the figures above

Honestly I think this has all been a bit silly.

But if you must talk about this stuff at least do it on one thread. Not a new frigin thread every day talking about the same things

Good Job ioi and I thank you.

No adjustments guys, our sell-through figures are fine. I also find it hard to understand how there are 7-8m discrepancies between our PS2/PSP figures and Sony's figures but at the end of the day, our data lines up with all major tracking firms in most major regions - Japan, USA, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe - our data across all consoles lines up closely with the same data from the various tracking firms and research reports. The only region where we may be out slightly is "other others" - Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, China, South Africa, Middle East etc - although that won't be accounting for 7-8 million differences.

I think the issue must still be in how exactly they define "sell-in", because for whatever reason a certain percentage of the units they are selling-in don't seem to sell-through.

It's been checked.

so maybe they could be wrong on the whole 2.7 ps3 part right, because by his explanation it is missing data, according to his statement

"The only region where we may be out slightly is "other others" - Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, China, South Africa, Middle East", that could be alot of unaccounted ps3's right there, especially the middle east, the rest meh will be handfulls admitedly, it's the middle east part i worry about the most.

jneul, you will end up getting banned by constantly questioning the figures, if the numbers are currently wrong they will be adjusted in the future, nothing is set in stone.

I don't understand your issue, there were plenty of people on this site recently saying close to 3 million 360's on the shelves was fine, funnily enough they were PS3 fans. Seems kind of hypocritical for them to say thats not possible now when it comes to the PS3. The ones complaining the most are those who gloated too early over sales and are left looking foolish now (not you jneul).
