come on dude.the ps3 was behind in sales agianst 360. then they cut there price and brought in the slim. so the ps3 will probably sell a steady 20k more units a week until 360 cuts its price. then 360 will outsell the ps3. the ps3 wont cut there price to counter it because they cant for now.(loosing way to much money on ps3) this time next year seams more likly.

that's doubtful... It will most likely be 40-50k per week until summer.

Im not talking about in America only, I'm talking WW so its more like 150-200k a week

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

The 360 doesn't have to derail the PS3's momentum anymore. They did it when it was necessary, got what they needed out of it, and can't be pushed out any longer. Anything being done at this point should strictly be in an attempt at opening up new demographics and software for the console.

Losing WAY to much money ? They lose $18 one every ps3 now , But they are Probably making Profite off GAMES-software-Accessories

Come August-October they Could easily Cut it by $50 , SONY would have never launched the ps3 if they were not willing to lose money , That seems to make people feel Better lately , SONY CANNOT DO THAT ITS IMPOSSIBLE , The Real question is  WILL THEY , Not that they can't

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

the ps3 isn't profitable, the division was profitable in a holiday quarter, but Sony specifically pointed out that profitablility for playstation was roughly the same as last year and Vaio was the reason for the raise in profits. So like last year in this quarter they roughly break even with playstation, but PS2 and PSP are profitable so i doubt that means PS3 is profitable.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Sony profiting on ps3?

Link?

Sony isn't profiting off the PS3 as far as I am aware. And certainly wouldn't be if they had to make a price cut anytime soon. The division made a profit last quarter on holiday based PS2 and PSP sales.

A price cut would benefit Microsoft a lot. How much? Who knows.

I really don't know about NATAL, could be a wildcard.

Furthermore, Microsoft has literally one of the most stunning game line-ups ever seen this year, almost akin to their dream year a couple of years back.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Don't forget that Microsoft has a trump card which they can pull out anytime and as often as they want:
The ban hammer.

150 k a week are you kidding. even 50k are you kidding. look at the last 4 weeks

ps3 beats 360 by 95k  WW

then

ps3 beats 360 by 60k WW

then

ps3 beats 360 by 47k WW

then

ps3 beats 360 by 36k WW

so 150k a week were have you been. even 30-50k

it should stay 20-35k above 360 untill 360 cuts its price.

last report was that sony was loosing 35 dollars for every ps3 shipped. which does not include the amount of money the retailer gets when they sell a console. so add 20 for that. they are loosing about 55 dollars for every ps3 sold to consumers. and if they cut there prices by 50 this year there gaming division wont see any profit this year, and up untill mid 2011 which is about the time a new console will be anounced.

Its almost like the OP thinks the 360 is a dying console and there is no demand for it.

I guess he'll have to wait and see the huge boost in sales from the next price drop.
