Going by their latest financials it would seem Namco are in a spot of financial bother. Don't know if this makes them vulnerable to takeovers etc. by other companies but i'm sure a decent amount of investment wouldn't go amiss. I know that Nintendo had a small stake in Bandai before they amalgamated with Namco. Not sure if this equates to a tiny share in the amalgamated company.  I think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to either invest some money in Namco or if they already have a small share, then to increase it. I mean Namco kind of make similar games to Nintendo in some genres. Nintendo should buy as many shares as they can without it being a "hostile" takeover and if they are either shrewd or lucky, they could find themselves to be the major shareholder, thus gaining exclusive rights to a pretty good portfolio of games in all genres. Coupled with Nintendo's IP's i think they would make quite a formidable force. 

I know Nintendo aren't usually that aggressive but they have money now and in my opinion it would only be a really good thing. Having Tekken 7 exclusively for your console would be a plus but just imagine...... Ridge racer Wii exclusive!!!! That would be mega!

No, I don't think so. Namco performed best on Wii in 2009 anyway (more sales on Wii than 360 and PS3 combined, with 9 games on Wii compared to 5 + 5 on the HD consoles), so it's likely they'll move more towards Wii regardless.

Nintendo would make more money by investing in their own studios, taking advantage of Namco's lay-offs among others, than they would by putting money into a company that's losing money and offers support to their competitors.

Nintendo already owns like 2% of the company btw (through their old Bandai stocks).

They should maybe buy Tales Studio and CC2 off them to help solidify their Wii RPG base. Other than that, I don't see much value there outside Bandai's various anime licenses.

If it does this, it should go in full.
In other words, buy the entire Namco library -- from PacMan to Tekken.

If Nintendo invested enough money then they would have exclusivity on all Namco games.

Why does everyone want Nintendo to buy into or up troubled 3rd party studios? Just 'cause Nintendo's raking in the money doesn't mean they should buy or bail out the rest of the industry. If anything they could get Namco to make a 'Mario ____' game and help them out.

I can't see that being a big deal at all. Those franchises have largely been killed by Namco anyway.
