Now? No.

In the future? Probably, don't care much bout FF8 but that was the one with the Triple Triad minigame right? That game was fun as hell. Don't know why SE doesn't release a PSN version of just that game with expanded tiles to cover the entire FF universe.

I suggest you take a look at that. Pretty much is Triple Triad overhauled to everything FF, just like you suggested ;) I've been playing this for quite some years now.

Nice... i'll have to check that out.

I'd still like a proffesional version... just because there'd be an Ai or if there is one in that it'd be better... plus it feels a bit wrong for them to not be making money of their great idea.

Although not as applicable in Triple Triad I like playing vs AI's a lot because it allows you to try ridiculious stuff that would get you killed vs real players.

Yeah, pretty much that's the main gripe that I got against Triple Triad Extreme, you can only play it against other human players, unless they added some form of A.I in the past few versions.

Probably S-E could profit from the idea, but I just don't see them even bothering, which is really sad. It had massive potential, much more than the needlesly complex Tetra Master

It's funny too... I mean, it'd take probably all of 5 programmers, you could retail it for 10 dollars and probably sell a pretty decent amount more then enough to make profit.

Could of even put it on all 3 consoles and both handhelds if they wanted.   Ah well.

The problem is that S-E never saw the potential in any of their mini-games, which is trully a shame. They had some that had massive potential, instead, the only one they explored was the snowboard mini-game from FF7, for cellphones only >_<

Their decisions baffle me sometimes.

Yet space invader games and yet another tower defense game is somehow right up their ally.  Oh SE.

Those are also on my list on biggest "WTF S-E?" complaints. Seriously, one would imagine that a large VG corporation like S-E would have a good enough PR team to scout for fan preferences, instead of just going random like that.

Let's be honest.  Square has always been "Vision" first buisness second.  I mean look at the Final Fantasy movie!

Wada has been steadily trying to push them to be more buisness like... but to be honest i'm not sure I trust his buisness instincts.

He gets the basic concepts but I can't help but feel like he's missing out some of the finer aspects... like the one we are talking about.

Enhanced versions of old minigames would probably kill.  Both to the old nostalgic user, and to the new user who sees a fun puzzle game or something.

Plus there is all sorts of possible tie ins and expansions.  For example for loading screens put info about various characters and games.   May get people to pick up the remakes or even get casual fans interested in the new FF games.

Ah well, companies do silly things every once in a while.  It's the problem with the group think of companies, they often miss obvious possibilties.

I agree completely.

There so much that they could expand too, even if we just look at Final Fantasy. Personally, I would love loading screens with information, since I love game Lore too much, which was also one of the reasons that I loved FFXII, the compendium and it's lore for pretty much almost everything in the game, was one of the finer points.

I just think that sometimes, the models that S-E follow are still too strict for them to evolve.

Darth, here's a tip that will get you past any boss in the game if Zell is in yoru party:

Practice with Zel's limit break. I don't remember what the moves were called, but the ones that are activated by Up-Down, Left-Right (or vice versa, I forget) can chain into each other endlessly. If you practice and get your timing down, you can get up to ten hits with that limit break per second of the limit break's counter.

My best combo was like 500,000 HP. Omega Weapon is a joke if you know how to use Zell.
