I think demand for the game was overstated/overassumed here on the website by a large amount.

50,000-125,000 people don't cancel preorders.

That's the only explanation, really. These american pre-order numbers on vgchartz are pure estimates, so they are off quiet often.

And I dont get this whole "it got bad reviews" thing going on around here, 75 metascore is solid enough.

Honestly, it is not.

Gamers these days (PS360 especially) demand something at least above 80%. Anything below that will suffer the consequences. THere are exceptions to every rule of course, but in order to get a 300k+ debut, you are going to need some review heat, or a great ass brandname.

I've not got a link anymore but I remember some guy at the top of Ubisoft said that 67 was the number on metacritic between success and failure lol.

Once you get all the gaming whores who post on forums / read N4G all day long, a 7/10 doesn't look so bad to most people. Not to mention most people read the review instead of the digit..

I preordered mine, still didn't pick it up heh.

My god, people how old are you that you don't understand such a simple things... Do you remember when MAG preorder numbers went sky rocket - when Sony offered beta for those who preorder the game - from now on put the pieces together on your own...

What about all those people that pre-ordered the game after getting into the Beta? I know i did, and i'm sure many others did too.

People preordered only to get Beta is this so hard to understand ? If there was a demo for the game people would play it and don't buy the game, but there wasn't a demo so people had to preorder to get Beta.

Wasn't it said that the pre-order list is still quite young in its development, meaning it's bound to have mistakes. THey're probably still trying to get out the errors in their data for it.

People played the beta and hated it.

The beta apparently had well over a million downloads. So a lot of people who preordered must have tried the beta.

Only games that had beta for preorders don't meet later their preorder numbers. The same thing happened befor and will happen again with BF:BC2 on PS3.

If that's the rule, then BF: BC2 for Xbox 360 is going to fail too, since there's a beta / demo for it too?

You could download the Beta from the PSN store, at least here in Europe.

That was world wide in early january.

Like a month b4 that, you could get a beta code straight from the playstation website.

If people were able to find out that they can get a beta code from pre-order, i'm sure most of those same people were able to find out about getting from a website. For Free. Without leaving home.
