Following his line of thought, any RPG is better than any action-adventure or linear game... wich is not true, even considering that I prefer RPG's (not so much lately though).

He should just have said that he enjoyed Mass Effect 2 more than U2, period.

Or maybe he could have just stated the fact that both games were reviews by different writers.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

He gives very good reasons why it's a better game, even if they are diffrent games.

One of the big things is ME2 is a larger game with more to do, that should be alone in making it a better game for many.

And Uncharted 2 is extremely linear, but they are different games (they have a different audience).

Unlike ME2 you mean? They play differently but its not like ME2 is open world with lots of options. The storytelling is different, but the basic linear stuff is basicly the same. You still have to go through all the neccessary checkpoints throughout a mission. Unless you talk to X you cant access Y.

@

Did you played ME2? This game has a lot of exploration.

-Edit-

Actually, even ME1 has much more exploration than Uncharted 2.

Well that's what i was saying. The storytelling is different.

In ME you have a "city" with mission points. You go to that mission point and accept your mission. But as soon as you're "in game" so to speak, there isn't really that much room for exploration or out of the box thinking when shooting your way through enemies. You cant access rooms in advance or attack from another angle. You enter, you fight, you go where you're suppose to go. You cant get lost, get stuck or miss out on what the game wants you to do and know.

And the same goes for U2, but without mission points. Both are very linear when it comes to actual gameplay.

Exploration of the planets to get some resources isn't "in game"? Mission points isn't "in game"? Did you ever explored a single planet?

I love both games. I have defended IGN in the past. I never will again.

BTW, it's kinda funny to see this happening... because going by review scores, IGN AU thinks Uncharted 2 is the better game.

IGN AU should make an article tomorrow.

"Uncharted 2 is better than Mass Effect 2. Deal with it fanboys"

That's the only way IGN can save themselves in my eyes. That would actully turn this situation from ridiculous and stupid to funny.

They won't. This is not new or even novel for the site, now. Remember the "Explosion man is better than NSMBWii, fanboys!" article? It was from like ten days ago?

Hmm... I think that explains alot of the reason why Wii owners have been saying "you can't spell ignorance without ign" lately...

Just wait for the "Heavy Rain is better than Alan Wake. Deal with it fanboys" article and we'll have went full circle <_<

I would agree but I don't see it happening. Splosion Man is better than Mario, Mass Effect is better than Uncharted.

See a pattern here?

Alan Wake is clearly better than Heavy Rain.

This is a fun thread, I like it. Would be better if I could be serious, but unfortunately I can't seeing as how I haven't played U2 or ME2.

This is just a stupid article! Ign should know more than anybody that you can't reason with one eyed fanboys, and they also should know that people have different tastes and opinions so telling everyone that one game is better than the other is just stupid because everybody is different.

My Eyes!!! The Goggles Do Nothing!!!

so, apparently they invented a device that can rate video games 100% objectively? great for them! wait, yeah it was the PS3 ("PS3 Perspective"). lying there in front of them the whole time and finally they used it to reveal the truth about the question that has now been going through our heads for days!!

or are they seriously saying that everyone who is not agreeing with them/him is a... fanboy? way to go.

@Euphoria14
I can say the same thing for you because your name is "Euphoria14". "Euphoria20" would be much better (20>>>>>>14).

@OT
I think we just need to ignore this article, it's just an opinion and they compared different genres. It's like saying that God of War is better than Little Big Planet, Zelda is better than Mario or Gears of War is better than Fable.

Both games are in third person view but Mass Effect is a RPG after all, you can't expect to see the same experience in Uncharted 2 because it's a third person action, not a third person RPG.

Seriously, their site gives me a headache so i cancelled that shit.

And to make a case for ME2 over U2, or vice versa, just shows how completely bankrupt they are of forming a cogent opinion about anything relevant.

Here you go IGN, I've got the next big scoop for one of your retarded editorials, how about you talk about how much more powerful the 360 is because it upscales all of its games to 1080p. Because that is obviously the type of misleading, vapid editorials your viewers are pandering for.

Fuck... I'm dead!
