IMO It should be 2D side-scroller with 3D visuals, A cross between the world of the Mario and Sonic franchise, A decent story and multiplayer.

You think NSMBW have legs? This would sell just as much, but I don't think more than. This is just my personal prediction.

No. They really don't match. Although their games together are not good (I mean the Olympic series), they should stay there.

No. I don't the the 2D play styles meshing well.

However a Mario & Sonic RPG could be good.

But they've now co-starred in 3 games. Isn't it getting a little old already?

I think fans of both have really wanted them in some sort of adventure game instead.

Sega has the most good "dead" franchises in the business. And nintendo has the most good money in the business. Wonderful combination!
