numbers dont' add up.

certainy sony must be sold to retailers. unless sony right now is tight VERY tight on shipments

like 3 ps3 slim out there and thousand people trying to get them.

microsoft numbers are clearly exaggerated, we know NPD they didn't sold that much, and we have japan.
and no way in hell they sold in europe that much even if did ps3 sold way more.

they are one of the lowest underdogs in many  markets, their mobile OS, the Zune are low sellers.

i think windows mobile is only 3.5% worldwide, and going to be worse since many are going for android/symbian/maemo

all based on linux and QT.

People need to stop saying Microsoft's numbers are "exaggerated". Legalities alone make that inherently unlikely, they're obviously just sell-in.

There is a huge difference between an official Sony statement and quoting an exec from a quick interview. Don't confuse the two.

And they profited 6.7 Billion dollars last quarter, far more than Apple, Nintendo, and many others, and a rise of over 60%.

In fact Microsoft earned more than 3 times as much profit in the last 3 months as Nintendo did in the last 9 months (2.1B).

And they dont fake the numbers, if they fake then Sony fakes.

MS said 31 million sold in mid 2009 and Sony said 27 million sold in Sept 2009. I sense fishyness somewhere. Or the 360 has been outselling the PS3 by a ratio of nearly 2:1 since the slim launched...

It's also hard to believe Sony are 4 million away from their target of 35 million for April:

so? profits doesn't come from their entertainment division but from windows and office.

and even then profits != sales != shipments.

since when did sony have access to sellthrough numbers? I thought they only released "sold to retailer" numbers?

I mean they constantly say there numbers are consumer sales, but everyone says they are lying, and that they are really shipped figures..

so honestly the post isn't that important in this situation, its been argued upon countless of times before.. anything sony says is always shipped to retailer =/

Exactly what I thought when I read that comment from Dille. But of course I knew it would be hit upon by 360 fans to

a. claim the gap is much bigger than we think it is, and

b. VGC needs to bump up 360 numbers big time.
