it looks like sony shipped and sold to customers all their 31m consoles

but Microsoft shipped 39m but only sold 37m to consumers or microsoft is exaggerating their numbers alot

more likely Dille flubbed somehow, or using sold v shipped etc. I'll be very surprised if Sony's shipped numbers tonight dont show 6-7 million.

 

And you cant exaggerate these numbers, they're financial stuff and heavily regulated. Well you could, but you'd probably end up like Enron.

didn't sony said the have sold 3.8 million in december? If true 31-27=4 aprox 3.8. It means zero sales in october and november. Or a huge overshipping beforer october

You u can exaggerate numbers and no you won't end up like enron.that only happens when you do it alot.many companie's have exaggerated alot in the past.

 

i think sony shipped 31m in the last quarter and Dille is saying the shipped number and most probably all the consoles were bought by consumers as there were PS3 shortages in the last week of DEC to January 20.

 

na dmicrosoft could have shipped 39m consoles which microsoft is saying but only sold 37m of those.

Well, you can stuff the channel, but you usually pay for it the next cycle.  See 360 in late 2006 (to hit 10m), or PSP in late 2005/early 2006 (to keep pace with DS).

Still, it doesn't look like MS is channel stuffing now.

software sales on multiplat titles doesnt really support the 8 million gap theory...



Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business
