Forums - Gaming - Anyone else getting tired of FPS?

I just realized not to long ago that out of all my PS2 games (19 games), I have 0 FPS (except one but a friend got it for me and I didn't even play more then an hour because I didn't like it, so I'm not counting it). Now looking at my PS3 (17 games) I have 6 FPS. That's enough in my opinion yet I'm more then likely going to buy even more over the next few years, I still didn't even get Killzone 2.

Hopefully 2010 will be different, there seems to be a decent amount of RPGs coming.

So is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of First Person Shooters?

No.

FPS still #1.

But I am getting tired of generic war FPS games. Operation flashpoint, COD 2, MAG, Bad company 2...etc

Games like Halo, Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2...you know the ones with personality and cool elements still kick ass.

Not at all- I only played 2 FPS's in 2009 (KZ2, ODST). Between both consoles I only have 7 and only plan to get 2 next year.

I honestly don't see this overwhelming mass of FPS's that some people complain about. We've had plenty of variety this year.

Maybe to you but you can boot them side to side I won't know which is which... Add the new MOH to that mix.

Depends.

Generic stuff like disolitude noted? Yes, no doubt. Will only play MAG.
Non generic? Bring them over here. I like Halo a lot for one.

Ok, I was going to say basically the same thing, but instead of personality I was going to say splitscreen co-op, and list the same exact games.

Minus MAG, and BC 2 because I haven't been able to play them

Why exactly are you going to buy Killzone 2 if you have enough FPS already ?

I must say through that I'm bored with the genre totally over they years i went from doing counter strike 8 hours per day to the point when i can't even finish Bioshock (which i got for 5$ promo on Steam).

Just looking at the videos for these games...I can already tell what they play like...lol

Way ahead of ya. I've tired of FPS games. As a matter of fact, I suffered from FPS exhaustion, passed out, and died. I just can't stand the genre anymore. It's way too saturated. Even the well made ones like CoD MW2 don't get my blood pumping anymore.
