Forums - Gaming - Do you miss console exclusive games?

I do. Last gen, I bought a PS2 to play GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas because I couldn't play it on the Xbox for a while.

Last gen, I really enjoyed knowing if I wanted to play a game like Halo, I had to buy an Xbox. If I wanted to play the Getaway or SOCOM, or GTA, I had to buy a PS2. The exclusives, IMHO, gave each console its own identity. Now, with the lines blurred, if I were a gamer on the fence, I'd go with price as the games are most times available on both systems.

What were your feelings last gen? Did you enjoy getting a steady stream of exclusives? How do you feel this generation?

Discuss.

I had a gamecube for most of last gen.

I now have a PsWii

this gen is 100 times better than last gen was for me

I am glad I can play WRPG's on a SONY console this gen

I am unhappy that GT5 & FF13 aren't out yet

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Socom and GT are the only reasons why I would always get a playstation system first. I think we still have exclusive just not as much as before. With production cost I don't blame devs for going multiplat.

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

I base my system of choice on stellar hardware and top of the line first-party titles. So third-party exclusives are something that I really never cared for back then, and I still don't care for them now. If they're there, fine. If they're not, fine.

I strongly believe that a system gets it's identity based on hardware and first-party offerings. The best console is the one that does those two things the best.

Thats why you are enjoying this gen a lot more.. you had a gamecube jk. I'm enjoying this gen more because I have a lot more money to spend on games.. but a lot less time.

GameCube was better system for it's time than all three of these new systems put together. You must really like playing your cheap, 5 hour-long shooting games.

No, because I have a Wii. 90% of the games i play are exclusives

:P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

There's still lots of them. PC exclusives have almost been wiped off the face of the earth though.
