Forums - Sony - Ign USA reviews heavenly sword

Sorry if this has been posted before. I searched for ign and didn't see it. Only my thread about the Uk review Maybe another thread will appear while im typing though. So anyway in the IGN UK review thread many people complained how IGN Uk were no good and we should wait for IGN USA. Well here we go, and the score? Exactly the same as IGN UK. 7.0 Summary if you are too lazy to click the link http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/815/815721p1.html (please note the only reason uk is at the start of that link is because im in the uk. Not because it is IGN UK. Presentation 9.0 The cutscene work is fantastic, as are the extras (even though you can get most of them freely online). Graphics 9.0 Beautiful in every respect. Character models are great, and the vistas are a-plenty. Sound 9.0 Sound effects are fantastic as is the music and voice work. Gameplay 7.0 The combat system is mostly very good, though the battles get repetitive very quickly and some of the extra stuff (like the button matching mini-games) needed more polish. Lasting Appeal 5.0 The experience is over fairly quickly. There are a number of really good unlockables to go back and earn, though you can already get them online right now.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

I dont' really like having a new thread for each review that comes out for a game...So we have 2 threads on the front page for IGN HS reviews.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

so wats your point? Im stil getting it anyway, he didint like it because he wanted a button masher and a longer game not a game that actually needs strategy for combos. Wait till gametrailers reviews it.

I think the point is IGN USA is the best review site out there statistically.

That and Hus kept claiming that IGN USA would be the true test of how good the game is.  Sad thing is he's banned for the day so he can't respond.

Wait for Gametrailers to review it. Then after they give it a mediocre score? Let me guess.... Gamespot, or maybe Gamesradar! I see how it goes

Just kiss the tip.

No, gametrailers is most reliable, ign, gamespot, or watever other site you want to talk about is biased. I only trust gametrailers but thats just my opinion. 7.0 isnt mediocore kid its descent, medio core is 6.9 or below. Also the reviewer basicly said he wants a hack and slash. This is were the gameplay score droped just a bit.

leo-j:

dam... uk gave it a 7.0... this is terrible...I was expecting at the lowest an 8.5, wow... then microsoft was smart pushing this game away..7.0 for me to waste on a game 60buks would be a waste of money. Dam and I really wanted that game.

then:

The only reviews I trust is ign itself, and gametrailers.

later:

Im not a random sony "fanboy", Like I said I only trust gametrailers

Why not just be honest and say that no matter how lousy the reviews are, you're going to buy this game?

At least that would be consistent.

And we understand: it's not like the PS3 has other games coming out that are getting much better reviews than Heavenly Sword. So it's a choice between HS, some other mediocre game (Lair), or no game at all.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

So.. you didn't read the review then?  Actually he said he loved the stances but unfortunitly it became a button mash triangle game because that also counters.

Lack of a block button made blocking pointless to attempt and ruined otherwise would of been fine blocking system.

Also you are fighting the same battles over and over again because there is very little variety in enemys.

These are all signs of button mahsers.

Also he complained that the already short game feels like it should be shorter because of the pointless arena fighting.

If anything it shows he didn't want a button masher and that is what this game turned out to be.

wow, all the ps3 "AAAA" games are flopping (warhawk, lair, Heavenly sword).

Still this game may get some good sales since like i said most games are flopping anyway and ps3 owners need something to play. Besides this game has got plenty of hype from the sony fans :P
