Consider the following situation: A game which you have awaited for a very long time just released (e.g. Half Life 3, Mother 3, mainline Zelda, etc.) but you’re really in the mood to play an old game or a game you already own. What do you do?

I don't get new releases (or pretty much anything made within a decade).
But comparing mood vs what I just happened to get (second hand), any game I've wanted for years wins, unless I've just played or am playing one of the series or something extremely similar.
Though ever since I've had my main/internet PC on TV(s), I do have to consider which computer I want to play something with. So if it's something only the newest can run, I may have to leave it to backlog for the moment.
What if the mood I’m in is to play a new release?

I rarely replay games and almost always prefer playing new games instead of returning to ones I've already played so for sure the new release. In general I prefer getting new experiences with media over returning to old ones.
