Forums - Nintendo - Clarification: Takashi Tezuka Will NOT Be Leaving Nintendo

As stated by Tezuka from Nintendo’s most recent shareholder meeting: “Working at Nintendo has meant developing and delivering products that bring joy to people around the world. It’s also a company where everyone works together and can flexibly create those products. I truly feel fortunate to have worked here. Going forward, I will continue to be involved as a production producer. Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to say a few words.”

Though he will be stepping down from his position as executive, Tezuka will remain at Nintendo as a “production producer.” Felt this should be clarified as many on this site (including myself) wrongfully interpretted his retirement as a departure from Nintendo.

Around the Network

That's good to hear - I actually find Tezuka's role in original 2D Zeldas at least as important as Miyamoto's, and wished he continued to be more involved with it once it transitioned to 3D, so maybe he'll get back into trenches again, to a degree.
