Which PS1 era horror franchise most deserves a remake?

Dino Crisis 7 50.00%

Parasite Eve 5 35.71%

Nightmare Creatures 0 0%

Clock Tower 2 14.29%

Total:14

Which of these forgotten 32-bit horror classics should be the next to get the remake treatment after House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark (to very mixed results)?

I’d say Dino Crisis. That’s ripe for a remake with the current climate and how great the OG was. I don’t get why Capcom is so averse to remaking this (they were supposedly working on 2 remakes that got scrapped), now would be the perfect time to remake Dino Crisis with the success of the Jurassic World movies and remakes being in vogue with the success of their own RE2R. Those things print money even after 3 forgettable at best sequels, it should be an easy profit for them and I have no doubt they’d nail it like they did their REmakes.

Parasite Eve is right up there, too (it’s my 1B), but its rights are up in the air due to some ongoing licensing issues.

Nightmare Creatures is also a question mark after Kalisto went bankrupt. Ubisoft supposedly now has the rights, but they’ve kinda just been sitting on it since 3’s cancellation with Kalisto’s bankruptcy. The first 2 weren’t all that memorable anyway.

Clock Tower remake could look and play great in RE Engine, but not before Dino Crisis.

I don't want a Clock Tower remake due to its gameplay.

But Dino Crisis and Nightmare Creatures Remakes + Nightmare Creatures 3 & Dino Crisis 4 is an excellent idea.
Parasite Eve 4 is also a very good idea, Square Enix developed the third entry on PSP and then buried the series, shame on them.

Played all four. My choice is Parasite Eve. Super creepy and unqiue.

My second choice is Clock Tower. I just really miss the Clock Tower 3 and Haunting Ground style of horror. And kinda wish Silent Hill f took more inspiration from that style.

Then Dino Crisis. Loved the first two games, especially 2. The 3rd one was horrid.

Nightmare Creatures was fine. I found the first one too hard and dropped it. Played the 2nd for a few minutes and wasn't interested in continuing it.

Why do we need more remakes? My Lord, it's like I went to bed after the PS2 era and woke up in a nightmare dimension.

Silent Hill

Oh it is getting a remake!

Then probably Dino Crisis, seems like such an obvious one to do.

Another one from that era (although not on the PS1) that would be interesting is Enemy Zero. Very weird game, that could het an interesting reinterpretation.

I have always been interested in playing Clock Tower. The point and click adventure game is not modern but I find the genre still works well for handheld gaming like on mobile.
Of the games listed in the poll, Clock Tower seem to match the unsettling feeling I look for when playing a game for the horror elements.

Dino Crisis

Dino Crisis is a no brainer and im surprised it hasnt happened yet.

Eternal Darkness, Rule of Rose, F.E.A.R. could also use one

More action/horror oriented, but the Resistance series was fantastic and i kinda miss it.
