Forums - General Discussion - New Year's Resolutions

I'm curious to see what everyone plans to do for the new year. And we could check up later during the year to see how these resolutions are holding up.

Personally, my resolutions are:

  • Earn a 510 on the MCAT
  • Become accepted into a medical school
  • Get Married/or find someone to be official with
  • Create a demo for a game that I think would compete against the Pokémon franchise
  • Read a very powerful book that has been on my mind for a long time now
  • Accomplish the Prime Pokémon Paceathon (Mainline Pokémon Marathon), what my profile image is
  • Become more involved in my church life.

Let's hope 2024 is a productive, and positive year for all!

Lifetime Sales Predictions

My resolutions are all about trying to do more in 2024.

  • Start a small bake shop LLC
  • Beat (most of) the Mario games
  • Read a new book every month
  • Upgrade kitchen appliances
  • Travel more
  • Not be as antisocial as I have over the past few years.

If I may, what book are you reading for January? And do you have your 12 books chosen?

Where do you want to travel too?

I wish you great success in the LLC! Very exciting.

I haven't set a book yet. I plan on making a list soon though. I really like sci-fi (well, not quite as dense as say Dune) if you have any recommendations. I haven't put as much thought into which books I want to read as I have into the other things I listed.

As far as traveling goes, I'm hoping we can finally go on a trip outside of the southeast US. My spouse and me normally plan for a trip close to our birthdays but we are thinking of doing something closer to Christmas this year so we can save a bit of money up for it.

1080p, as usual. Other than that, I don't do New Year's Resolutions. Life is life, and when the moment is right for a decision, that's when I'll make the decision - no need for the New Year for that. To elaborate, I don't think it would work for me personally to make decisions at an arbitrary point in time - I don't think it would work out; I'd just end up not feeling motivated enough to work towards fulfilling those decisions. To each their own though, and if people find joy in New Year's Resolutions, that's great for them!

I don't do full year resolutions, just focus on the stuff now. In January I need to deep clean my place. In February I need to ask a girl out from my workplace. Of course I have 4 games set through April as well. After that who knows?

Write more and eat less.

Other than that pretty much do anything that make me loath myself less.

To have a better year than the previous.
