Pokémon Unite was released yesterday on Switch (coming in September to mobile) about a year after it's initial reveal. I know back then people were divided about it but now we get to try it out for ourselves.

I played a bit of it yesterday and found it quite entertaining. I like the short game duration (10 mins), the few Pokémons I've tried were solid and I won both my online games against real opponents. I don't know how long it's going to maintain my interest since there seems to be only one map but I'll definitely play again in the coming days.

As far as the monetization goes, the game starts off quite generous with the coin rewards but I've heard that it gets stingy quite fast so that might hinder the fun as time goes.

I find it really fun! Simple and thrilling, and the short matches is just perfect

been a LoL fan when it started lol but it turned frustrating after a while, too hardcore with all that stuff added and those super long matches... let's see how long Pokemon Unite can maintain the fun

I really, really like it so far! It runs so smoothly (unlike Smash Ultimate) and I really like the simplistic and quick match approach to it, rather than LoL's 45+ minutes matches. It's great for a 10 min break, or if you want to play a bunch of games in a run that's fine too!

No interest

The length of LoL matches is what ultimately turned me away from it. I quite liked the heroes, even unlocked a few with the free currency but 45 minutes is just too long. 

Yeah, and I've definitely had matches lasting 1 hour +
