If something is clearly better than a cheaper alternative, I think the better object will win in the end. This happened with the 3ds and 2ds, it will happen with the Switch. Also, you really think it will outsell ps4 by a lot? Like really? PS4 on track for 130 million and you think Switch will outsell by A LOT? I respect everyones opinion, but cmon man. 

Switch will outsell PS4 (by a lot) and certain people will use the "bu-but its a handheld" excuse and say not to compare them. You see some people setting up for that already. Dont get salty when it happens (it happened in Japan already) just ask Sony to release a portable PS4.

Japan isn’t going to make up the gap for Europe+rotw.

Switch will outsell PS4 (by a lot) and certain people will use the "bu-but its a handheld" excuse and say not to compare them. You see some people setting up for that already. Dont get salty when it happens (it happened in Japan already) just ask Sony to release a portable PS4.

Just ignore those people. Of course home consoles and handhelds can be compared and we do it all the time when talking about PS4 not being able to reach PS2/DS numbers.

Will you be salty if Switch doesn't outsell PS4?

Dude, Pokemon is now $60 and you dont have to spend $360+ tax to get to play it. You guys are really underestimating the theory that Hiroshi Yamauchi put forth that "people like the games, BUT do not like to buy hardware that the games are locked behind, so hardware should always be cheap". I'm betting that Yamauchi will be proven right again.

Of course you're confused. Your posts are pretty much nonsense. Why would the Lite need unique content when its the Switch? Think before you post. Also the Switch Lite has Pokemon and its cheaper that the regular Switch (that also has Pokemon DUH!). That alone will make the Lite a massive seller/bigger than the regular version. Its C-H-E-A-P-E-R. Get it?

I'd be a millionaire if I could precisely predict the future like that. All I know is that I bet the Switch will outsell it, and when that happens the "goalposts moving" will be legendary.

Again,for the umpteenth time (and I am guessing this keeps coming up cause its the best way to dismiss what I am saying). I have never said, that the switch lite be counted differently. I am saying that it (the Nintendo Switch as a platform) being counted along with home consoles was and is a mistake to begin with. And I have been saying that since 2017. The reason its coming up again is that Nintendo just validated my point. They made a switch lite.

Right now? the switch as a platform has more in common with a handheld than a home console, and you don't have to take my word for it... in two years you will find that the switch lite is the better selling iteration of the Nintendo switch with the larger install base. You can chalk this off as yet another prediction I am making, the same way I said (back in 2017)that in under 3 years Nintendo will make a dedicated handheld version of the switch the second they try and make a cheaper version.

Are we just going to continue pretending that the Nintendo Switch lite is not a handheld in every traditional sense of the word?

It doesn't have a unique lineup of exclusive games, so how can it be counted differently?

I am really getting tired of saying this, I am not saying and never said the switch lite should be counted as a different console from the switch.

Even in the post you quoted I dedicated the whole second paragraph to clear that up again. I even bolded it for you... 

I have an agenda, but the agenda you all are pushing on me is not it lol. My agenda is simple, and I have been saying it repeatedly and since 2017. I never believed that the Switch should be counted along with the PS4/XB1. Back then I also said they aren't even competing for the same audience which is why the sales of one doesn't affect the other.

This is just proof here that a lot of you guys don't actually read what a person is saying... the second its something that seemingly goes against your console of choice you bring out the pitchforks.

This is interesting. Whenever sales are brought up to benchmark other industries, everything is counted on what is produced. Who is the biggest manufacturer of PCs in the world? Whatever the answer is everything they make (desktops,laptops,etc) are counted and compared. Who is the biggest automaker in the world? Whoever wins, EVERYTHING they produce from luxury cars to cheap cars are counted and compared to the total of everything the others make. And you know what, no one bats an eye whoever the winner is. Why are you trying to make gaming different from every other industry?
